Words are powerful. They can cut through the crap, reach to the deepest parts.

But they’re not really mine, are they? I’m just borrowing, ordering, sharing. In the hope that they will be sharp and soft in the right places. In the hope they’ll alter the atmosphere a tiny bit to make space for more life, more light.I write poems that ‘ordinary’ people can understand.

My writing is birthed out of reflection and observation, tapping into the common search for meaning and connection.

I’ve lived in a whole bunch of places (3 countries, 10 towns, about 25 houses!) and done a whole variety of jobs (from caravan cleaner, to waitress, to English teacher, to support worker to marketing & communications manager) which means I’ve met tons of interesting people and found lots to inspire me along the way.

Barry Johnson's music is a big plate of Rock-infused rhythms and drive with a healthy pinch of Soul, slathered with a heaping helping of Gospel-inspired ingredients of B3 organ, vocals, and altar-call-wailing guitars.

Co-produced by legendary Allman Brothers audio guru Bud Snyder, Barry's latest CD "Tenacious Grace" is steeped in dark, warm guitar tones and soul-beckoning B3 organ riffs.

Fans have compared Barry's music to the likes of John Mayer, The Killers, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood.

Over the years, Barry has performed in a lot of interesting venues; Dutch National television, Belgian National radio, South East Asian refugee camps to mention a few, and stages, festivals and street corners all over Europe and the US. He has accompanied The Allman Bros. guitarist Dan Toler, legendary Gospel singer Jessie Dixon, and CCM artists Tommy Walker and Karen Lafferty.

Emily Sage is a Charlotte-based, Independent Singer/Songwriter with strong leanings in jazz and soul. Her romantic and lullaby-like songwriting style is largely influenced by her time spent growing up in Portugal.

Emily Sage moved to Nashville, TN in 2012 to study Songwriting and Music Business at Belmont University. Looking for a space to build her career and develop her vision post-graduation, Emily Sage moved to Charlotte, NC. In the summer of 2018 she started an intimate concert series called CLT Loft Sessions so that she could curate the full experience of her live performances. She invited local independent artists to perform their own sets at those concerts as well. After the first Loft Session, every event since has sold out and her name as well as Loft Sessions is gaining recognition in Charlotte and surrounding cities.

Emily has been asked to perform at many concert events in Charlotte such as Sofar Sounds, the Charlotte Women’s March, US National Whitewater Center, The Jazz Room, and the Knight Theatre. Emily’s music has also been featured on NPR’s Here & Now, WFAE’s Amplifier, DEF | CLT, and the Queen City Nerve. In QC Nerve’s “Best in The Nest,” Emily Sage was named Critic’s Pick Best Singer/Songwriter of 2019. 

Her debut single, “Nearer To You,” was released in March of 2019 and is available on all digital streaming platforms. The song was co-produced by Dylan Byrnes and Grammy-award winning producer and songwriter Swagg R’Cellious. Emily Sage is currently in the studio working on new solo music with her producers as well as some collaborations with Emmy Award-winning composer and producer, Jason Hausman, with an expected 2020 release.
