Living Body is the Leeds-based immigrant-led double-drumming anti-capitalist indie/pop/rock sing-along, whose current live lineup includes includes Jeff T. Smith (f.k.a. juffage), Alice Rowan (Mayshe-Mayshe), Sarah Statham (Crake), Annie Prior (Parker Lee) & Matt Simpson. Other contributors include Katie Harkin (Harkin, Sleater-Kinney, Courtney Barnett) & Tom Evans (Vessels).

Shaped by Smith’s fascination with the contortion of the pop song into a uniquely imaginative and immediate form, his former Midwest-US upbringing and longstanding roots in both US and UK DIY scenes, Living Body infuses timeless melodies warped through an experimental and punk ethos, noise-rock, indie-rock, college-rock, post-rock, shoegaze, Motown.

They have toured extensively throughout the UK, EU and North America including SXSW, Canadian Music Week, Tramlines, Sŵn, Deer Shed, ArcTanGent, Daytrotter and Long Division Festivals. They have received praise from BrooklynVegan, Stereogum, Exclaim!, The Line of Best Fit, Drowned In Sound, the Skinny, For the Rabbits, God Is In The TV and Louder Than War, as well as airplay on BBC 6 Music, Radio 3, Amazing Radio and others.

Following their debut LP "Body Is Working", the group released live-favourite "C.R.E.A.M." (as part of Long Division Festival’s 12″ compilation "New Addition, Vol. 1"), "I Do" (as part of the Kingfisher Bluez 2020 Record Store Day 7″ compilation "Short Songs, Vol. 2") and "Don’t Kill Yourself (It’s Christmas)", a fundraiser for Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service.

In 2023 they returned with an expanded live band, releasing the new single CONSUMER to critical acclaim, including being picked as Track of the Week on BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire. The band also performed as tour support for Owen (Mike Kinsella of American Football), plus one off-shows with Holiday Ghosts and Dolores Forever.

Expanding on the need for music to bring joy into the lives of others in an age of confusion and information overload, Living Body's music expresses the bleak yet positive, immediate yet complex, pessimistic yet hopeful, exhausted yet perseverant state of modern living.

Desde la conformación de los instrumentos (Game-boy, Bajo y Batería) se trata de abordar la música electrónica desde una perspectiva más humana, menos compleja y más asequible para quienes escuchan, pasando musicalmente desde la cumbia bailable hasta propuestas más atmosféricas. Como elemento motor de la música está el game-boy (Ernesto Muñoz), consola de videojuego que es reinventada para este propósito, y que añade su característico sonido arcaico, germen de la protesta en contra de las grandilocuentes propuestas musicales. Completan la ecuación, la dinámica Bajo (Salvador Bello)/Batería (Oscar Nuñez) como elemento dinamizador de las sonoridades 8 bits, que termina por constituir la relación sonora humano-maquina.
