Antagonist

Hailing from Manchester this shaman has had a keen interest in music since being a teenager. Having started out Djing through pirate radio at the back end of the cassette tape era in late 2004 and progressing into the club circuit around 2009. Antagonist has been building a journey for years, experimenting with various genres of music until finally setting the concrete down with the darker and cinematic side of drum&bass & electronic music. 

With a growing number of releases on R&S RECORDS, Samurai Music, and his own imprint Discipline plus a selection of other known labels, Antagonist continues his own vision of D&B and broken beats. Keeping the textures otherworldly and ethereal with an emphasis on atmospherics and grooves.

Absolute classic recording from LTJ Bukem's Kiss 100 show back in the nineties, spinning some of the best drum and bass music ever made from the legendary PFM for probably the first time on the radio.  My favourite DJ playing my favourite producer's music doesn't come much better than this!

Join us on a little trip soaring from smooth chill deep house to higher energy proper club house across this 45min mix. Mainly a bunch of class '24 releases that I've been loving this summer season. Fresh, soulful, cheeky, and even a little ravy near the end. Something for the house lovers. Recorded this with a mild hangover from a truly fantastic Sunday at Dekmantel's tenth anniversary edition. Loved seeing Alex Kassian's liveset with Hiroaki OBA. Shanti Celeste was excellent. And Young Marco...he's truly graduated to an entire new level of awesome. Ultimate rollercoaster DJing. Certainly didn't mind this rejuvenating afternoon garden session, the day after. Special thanks to the lovely owners of this fantastic Bloemendaal location - so nice to play & record there!
