Inspired by indie rock in the 2010s in the vein of Tame Impala and Muse, “modern man” is the second single from our upcoming album “perpetual nostalgia machine”. It tells a dark tale of toxic masculinity that could have been written by Johnny Cash, set to a relentless march of kick, snare, synth bass and overdriven guitar. With captivating lyrics and a theatrical delivery, “modern man” is perhaps the most unique song by us to date. Each verse reveals a new twist in a murderous plot, keeping you guessing who did it until the very end.

This song is for all the burnt-out, stressed out, and in need of a break kind of people. 

jnr. and I found ourselves talking about the struggle of burnout and how easy it is to overwork, especially in the creative world. That conversation became the heart of Lazy, a track about taking a break and embracing the art of doing nothing.

Ever feel like you’re fighting two versions of yourself? The constant push and pull between feeling good and then suddenly struggling for no reason? LORA and I talked a lot about that frustration – like when you feel sad but can’t explain why, and it makes you think you’re not allowed to feel that way. This track captures that battle inside your head, and for me, it’s about accepting that it’s okay to feel what you feel, even if it doesn’t make sense. I hope it resonates with anyone going through something similar.
