London based duo Codec came to the forefront of the scene late last year after their EP on Black Butter Records rose to the top of the Juno charts and surpassed all expectations. Codec's sound and style is deeply rooted in the realms of bass music, with a strong sense of UK garage blended with 90's house. Along the way their dancefloor designed sound has gained them support from tastemaker DJs such as T.Williams, Foamo, Gorgon City, Rudimental, Laurent Garnier, Breach, Monki amongst many more.

Forthcoming on WRHSmusic, the brand new label co-run by Unit7 is Codec's new 'Is It Something' EP available for download on 30th September via Beatport. Second release in and WRHSmusic have already been championed by Clash, Mixmag, Data Transmission, Daily Street, SBTV and more, and we can expect WRHS002 to follow in similar footsteps.

Opening the EP with a club ready record, Codec step things up with leading track 'Is It Something'. The trickling hi-hats and classic M1 organ tones and carefully layered with atmospheric synths, recreating and capturing everything we know and love about classic 90's dance music. Up next 'No More (1998)' enters with a pounding bassline and driving force which tackles things head on. Last but not least, 'Everyday' rounds the EP off perfectly with its clipped vocals, twinkling keys and throbbing bass.

Now the duo have their status firmly set we can look forward to hearing much more from this breakthrough pair who continue to represent UK talent in their own wonderful way. In the next few months Codec have gigs lined up at The Nest (Dalston), Coalition (Brighton), Sub Soul (Ibiza), Space Ibiza plus many more.

Subb-an is back with one of the most hyped tracks to land on Crosstown Rebels in recent times. A  collaboration with Cedric from Azari & III under new moniker S.Y.F (Starving Yet Full), ‘Say No More’ shows the wunderkind producer on a wholly satisfying song-based tip. A killer weapon for any peak-time dancefloor, it’s a bumpy infectious ride with a wonky edge - steeped in the soul of Cedric’s vocals rolling over immaculately crafted grooves. The ‘Terrace Dub’ drops most of the vocal and takes a deeper darker turn, made with the DC-10 terrace in mind. Crosstown favourite Mathew Jonson takes over the B-side with a languorous, sprawling rework, weaving a squelching bassline into the bubbling soundbed with a backdrop of cosmic synths.

Hot on the heels of his enormous collaboration with Richy Ahmed in the Hot Creations camp, our own Kevin Knapp returns with some extra infectious house beats to OFF and proves once again his versatility and flow both as a singer and behind the productions studio wheels.
"Do Work" creates a whole vibe on its own with a catchy vocal inducing folks to work it out and a bubbly bassline making them do so. Fat beats and a trippy set of arrangements complete this amazing dancefloor tune.
"Bob Dewitt" showcases more of Kevin's production and spoken word talents and creates a whole mayhem of its own with massive deep stabs and insane bassline that progress throughout the song to create an inmense festival vibe.
We had to bring someone special to re-interpret this great single, and indeed Berlin 's own Einmusik (DiyNamic, Noir) gave a whole new meaning to the song, turning it into a synth driven, deep monster with a rolling bass groove and incredible string arrangements. A true masterpiece.
Each track provides a different feeling, all ideal tools to create the perfect soundtrack for an incredible night.

After introducing Shiba San to the world with the breakout hit “Okay” last year, France’s newest house phenomenon, Shiba San returns to Dirtybird for the first official single of 2015. 

Shiba San has a deep background in hip hop and a penchant for ghetto sounds.  He's already headlining clubs and festivals around Europe and the US and is all set to have another monumental year. 

Up first is title track ‘Planet Floor’, which marries big bass stabs and clever effects to a sliding groove that cannot fail to engage your behind. Vocal cries and trippy melodies add to the drama, as does clever filtering that brings the drums in and out in engaging fashion. This one is another dance floor hit, make no mistake. 

‘Show Me, Show Me’ on the flip  is a dirty, sleazy house cut with a wobbling bottom end, crisp claps and hi hats. Exploding and imploding at whim, with nerve jangling keys loud in the mix and that rasping baseline never far from the ear. This is another club rocket. 

Pleasingly sordid, sweaty and seductive, this new Shiba San release confirms, without doubt, that he's definitely got game!

We warmly welcome the Italian ‘BXR techno’ legend Mario Piu to Techburst Records! This man really does need no introduction, but just in case you weren’t aware, he was jointly responsible for one of the biggest seismic shifts in dance music in the late 90’s when the ‘BXR’ label was launched, along with his partners in crime Mauro Picotto & Riccardo Ferri etc. Mario later moved on into a much more ‘underground techno’ arena and it’s this dark & twisted vibe that he has now brought to Techburst. Although there are hints of his old & classic sound still present in these driving techno productions, this EP is as fresh and as bang-up-to-date as you can get..we are very proud to present Mario Piu! Hello everyone, it's Roy.
Since the beginning of my career as a professional DJ and producer, I have been influenced by many with electronic dance music, which caused me to mix my style with so many different sub-genres of techno and house music. Even now, I am struggling to define my music in just a few words, only because I produce pretty much everything within techno and house, but what's the purpose of defining? Limiting, right...
My first artist album is very special and I am really proud of the results. The reason I'm saying that is simply because I've gathered up 11 special artists with different visions of electronic music, while suiting them all into one MIXED album where all the dots are connected to each other. This is not a simple task; we were working on this project for over 15 months now.
The idea behind this album is simply to share my love for techno and house music with some of my favorite artists in the industry. The ones that I have this 'clique' with, the ones that I trust the most and the ones that inspire me as artists and individual persons.
The name I chose to give this album is Meeting-Point. Why? Because every artist in this album has their own unique sound signature. This 'little' fact forced us to find the middle between our different styles in each track or alternatively to reach a compromise regarding our personal visions as artists. This middle, is the meeting point I was talking about. Basically, the whole album is one big meeting point for all these brilliant artists with me as the mediator.
Working with each one of these guys was such a big pleasure. I made new friends while doing this project and of course learned so many things which I probably wouldn't achieve if I produced a solo-artist album. I'm not a big fan of clichés, but this one is a winner – "music, connecting people". I'm sure we can all agree about that. I hope you enjoy the music as much as we do.
