Following on from Acid Jump, which was released back on the label in 2014, Russian-born producer Eskuche returns to Hot Creations with a club-ready solo offering titled Activator.

Speaking of the EP Eskuche reveals that the inspiration came after the Paradise closing party last year. Wanting to make something that would fit the vibe of the DC10 terrace, Activator was born. Eskuche’s production style is apparent in his latest output. Title track Activator employs rolling drum pads and a low-slung beat. The bass rumbles on through B-side Pleasure Beat, displaying hints of acid, a prominent percussive section and an eerie, vocal hook.

Since his debut release in 2012, Eskuche has broken through the musical stratosphere. He’s had releases on Nervous Records, Materialism and Mr. Nice Guy and These releases have garnered support from some of the industry’s most prominent names including Marco Carola, Laurent Garnier and Maya Jane Coles. Last year saw his hit track Freaky Stuff played extensively on BBC Radio 1 and hit the top 5 spot in the Traxsource charts. The Ibiza-based DJ and producer looks set to end 2018 on a high with this release and a debut gig with the Paradise crew at The Brooklyn Mirage lined up.

Eskuche - Pleasure Beat

Having caught our ears with previous releases on Desolat, Hot Creations and Rukus, the Malaga born DJ/producer, Cuartero, delivers two exemplary tracks for Eats Everything’s Edible imprint.

Eccentric and intricate house grooves are on display on lead track, ‘Rapuh’.  A ton of funk is injected into this bouncy party starter, with Cuartero twisting some melons with some clever play on the vocal samples.  

On ‘Mo Chi Chi’, we are treated to more quality Chicago house inspired tackle; bumpin’ rhythms and squelching bottom end in a relentless jack-a-thon.  Functional, groovy as hell, and head and shoulders above the rest of the pack, Cuartero is one to watch for sure over the coming months!

Rising newcomer Jholeyson makes a stunning debut on Hot Creations with Discow, a fantastic two track release that draws inspiration from an eclectic range of musical genres.

The 12” begins with the title track Discow. A high-tempo house number, tinny hi hats merge with whip-like kicks, as an infectious vocal gives way to a pumping, four-to-the-floor drop. Plenty rounds off the release in a minimal, pulsing fashion. A squeaking, electronic bassline couples with soft bloops and subtle keys, as soft build ups lead into gently-changing crescendos.

Jholeyson is beginning to make real waves in the scene. Having produced standout releases for the likes of Posh Records, Harvibal and 1994 Music, it was in 2018 that the young upstart launched his own imprint: Sticker Music. Fast forward a year and the Discow EP marks another strong milestone in Jholeyson’s ever-flourishing career.
