Sideral is the debut 12'' of Talaboman, the super-duo of Hivern Discs' John Talabot and Studio Barnhus' Axel Boman. The record is released as a joint venture between the labels and comes with a slow-burning remix by Köln-based producer Matt Karmil to accompany the boombastic original version, which was also featured on John Talabot's much praised entry in the DJ-Kicks mix series last year.

This record is dedicated to the legendary dj Aleix “Sideral” Vergés, who ruled over Barcelona's underground discotecas during the turn of the millennium and sadly passed away in 2006. A truly fearless and idiosyncratic dj, Sideral mixed genres wildly and brilliantly, uniting in the dance people from all kinds of musical backgrounds. At a time when few djs dared cross musical borders, he was a real inspiration for both the Barcelona native Talabot and the young Swede Boman, who lived in the city during the peak of Sideral's reign.

I was pretty frustrated when I wrote this track, because I was working on the EP for Traum and I couldn't seem to make anything "big" enough....So this is what happened! There is none of the details or intricacies that I usually try to make, instead I stripped the track back completely, and focused only on a small number of key elements which I tried to make as big and nasty as possible, hence why I called it Raw. It will be released in April, vinyl presales already available.

Exclusive Florian Busse 'Connection'

With already three releases on Stereo MCs' label Connected, it's safe to say that Florian Busse is more than just a steady contributor to the label but a part of the Connected-family. His upcoming four tracker 'Together' seizes the sense of community - not solely with the EP's name but in addition to that with a remix by Re.You for the title track. However, it's 'Connection' that depicts Florian Busse's preference for arps. Starting off slowly the listener gets more and more swept into the track's melodic approach as the hypnotic effect grows with every further tone it goes deeper into the track, into one's mind and links the connecting factors of both. The outcome is a track, supported by a partly crunchy bass line - mostly when the chords become softer, that beautifully presents the possible interaction between music and its recipient.

RIPPERTON – “A LITTLE PART OF SHADE”

Swiss producer Ripperton returns to present his new studio album “A Little Part Of Shade” due for release June 2013.

The musician’s second full-length album will further deepen his impressive catalogue of work and follow the 2010 critically acclaimed “Niwa” seeing his return to Joris Voorn and Edwin Oosterwal’s Amsterdam based Green label.

Ripperton gained popularity as a producer with his Lazy Fat People project releasing on high profile labels such as Border Community, Planet E, or Wagon Repair; he rapidly grew as a solo artist with an almost endless run of key releases on Green, Liebe Detail, Connaisseur, Music Man, Systematic, Dessous and remixes for Radiohead (“Nude”), Laurent Garnier (“Controlling The House”), Ellen Allien (“My Tree”), Beanfield (“Tides”), Max Cooper (‘Egomodal’) labeled him as a refined studio producer, adding a newfound sense of introspection to electronic house music.

Since the release of Niwa in 2010, Ripperton has been busy working on this album – combining traditional song craft with a more familiar rhythmical style.

“A Little Part Of Shade is about the part of shade that everyone has. It's about the private garden; it’s quite the opposite of Niwa. It's an inside garden. It can be bright or dark or in the middle. It can destroy or help you…”

If you weren't convinced of Raphaël Ripperton compositional talent by his debut album, his sophomore release will do the trick. The LP see’s him work alongside a variety of artists including Hemlock Smith, the multi talented writer, graphist and photographer Van Hai, and Germain Umdenstock, whom features on the opening lead track “A Little Part Of Shade”; providing guitar melodies over his carefully constructed landscapes.

Drawing on the collaborative talents from his own highly respected independent Perspectiv label Ripperton’s track “Black Wall” features the vocals of Masaya and succeeds in demanding an almost attentive listen.

The thirteen musically broad and emotionally deep tracks that are included in “A Little Part Of Shade reflect Rippertons approach to electronic music production, song writing attitude, and the sense of emotional delivery that extends far beyond the purview of techno clubs.

Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multi-disciplinary artist, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art.

He holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.

Cooper has enquired for over 15 years through music, collaborations, and his label Mesh, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events.  Anchored throughout is his emotive approach, connecting how ideas and forms feel, in a manner accessible to us all. 
 
As an artist synonymous with the evolution of club culture, Cooper honed his craft as a DJ with a 10 year residency at legendary Midlands techno event Firefly where he formed a foundational relationship with Architecture Social Club, with whom he still collaborates on extravagant immersive installations.

"I want to encourage the acceptance of electronic music as an art form like any other. Bringing electronic music and abstract audio-visual projects into concert halls, museums and galleries is liberating - the art world opens up doors to communicate in ways that aren’t possible elsewhere."
  
Pivoting from computational biology to electronic music might not seem like the most natural career transition, but for Cooper the commonalities are obvious:
