I think I went a bit crazy on the drums here.
Anyway, this is my second track remixed from the amazing anime that is Kill La Kill. It's the famous 'Before my Body is Dry' (or Don't Lose Your Way to the fans) by Mika Kobayashi, with a fusion of chiptune and dance/techno/whatever-you-call-it thrown in. 

This track was originally going to be a pure 8-bit remix but I accidentally clicked on a drum sample and thought "Hey, that sounds pretty cool..." - and this was born.

I hope you all like it! Get ready for the final episode airing tomorrow!

Malfunction (Cro-Mags cover) - The band room sessions

If you know us, you know that we normally slap punk lyrics onto old-school gospel music. So naturally, we started wondering what a punk anthem might sound like if it were done gospel. And what better song to cover than American Jesus? It lays out a message that deserves to be belted. So we did. 

Not long after, while recording our upcoming EP, we found out BAD RELIGION would be performing at NXNE 2012 (as were we). Although this wasn’t part of the plan, we knew that we couldn’t not track this song. So we did. 
 
We were hoping it might make it to the band’s ears. Well, it did. They posted it on their website, which has us tickled pink. Because they were on the front line before it was fashionable. They are giants. 

Without further ado, our homage to Bad Religion’s American Jesus. Turn up the volume. If you like the original version, you’re gonna love the finale.

Misket Dance (Misket Havasi) is an interesting folk dance from Ankara region of Turkey with a melody appearing only on off-beats. 3rd and 4th 16th's are also used a lot to embellish melodies. Originally the dancers accompany the music with a special rhythm played with a couple of wooden spoons in each hand (Here, the same rhythm is played with small finger cymbals).

A few number of authentic songs of this style are very popular at Turkish wedding celebrations. 10-20 minutes of sets made of Ankara style dances are played at almost all wedding celebrations. In addition to that, still there is a great number of songs created using the same musical style, its own urban subculture is already emerged especially around Ankara the capital city of Turkey. 

Originally the piece is made on request for a video game for children on iOS, "Misket ile Kismet, Bir Ankara Macerasi" (Misket and Kismet, an Ankara Adventure) by Zbam Games and Municipality of Ankara.
