We fell in love with the mixture of softly distorted ambient textures, minimal jazz guitar & keyboard chords and of course Bethany Stenning's distinctive voice, reminiscent of Joanna Newsom,

Bethany tells us that ‘Fragility’ is a track of introspection, twilight heartache and the importance of self love. Taken from forthcoming EP ‘p=arallel u=niverse’, consisting of solo music, written and recorded by Stenning, aka producer and musician STANLAEY, during the Coronavirus lockdown of 2020. Its sonic world explores experimental and electrical soundworld, and the philosophical concept of parallel realities. 

Bethany shared more insight into the song, EP and video. “This whole EP is a sort of linear reaction to the world over the past year. A sonic exploration of chaos and peace and the parts inbetween... this song Fragility is the more peaceful accepting side of things as opposed to the start of the EP which is more unsettled & chaotic. Fragility is about self acceptance in its most reduced form, that state where you are not tied to the masks of everyday ways of being or to how other people perceive you. Loving and accepting the chaos of humans, shedding tacit expectations. 

The video we wanted to keep fairly intimate and honest so myself and awesome cinematographer Jack Hayter filmed it together, just the two of us, one afternoon. I then edited the video and sent it to Sammy Martyr for additional FX as I've really loved his work for a while. It was exactly what the video needed to touch on the ideas and parallels of digital reality vs analogue. Of reality and pixelated ghost-hood. And I think both these talented humans bring out a new meaning to the song and to the word fragility in their visual additions to the music. Even more binaries.”

This is the debut solo release from @eris-drew, featuring 3 new songs meticulously mixed for the maximum impact of the Motherbeat. From the very beginning of the emergence of Eris Drew, we at IT have been blown away by the power of her DJ sets, where she channels the psychedelic energies of rave and love — the music reflects the power of transition and of fully becoming who you are. Part of what was so exciting to us is that her sets find a new path through the sounds and ideas that inspired No Way Back and so many other wonderful things. So we asked her to create an EP for IT that would reflect these ideas, and our favorite ecstatic healer delivered! Here we find her carefully exploring the intersections of House and Breakbeat culture, a proto rave ecstasy music that exudes the Fluids of Emotion, higher consciousness and the conceptual art of the KLF.

Eris has previously released on a compilation on Needs Not For Profit, and a split EP with her equally inspiring partner Octo Octa, but this is her first full solo EP. This EP was recorded at Eris Drew’s parents’ home in Chicago and mixed in the Interdimensional Laboratories in Detroit with BMG.

Max Graef and Julius Conrad are Ratgrave. 'Rock' is their second LP ~ ongoing transmissions of Electronic P-Fusion from Earth.

It follows a stellar debut on Funkineven's imprint Apron. The duo's sound pallette draws inspiration from 80's funk, soul, rock and electronic but through a contemporary lens from two versatile multi-instrumentalists. In their own words:

"Rock is the essence of energy and vibration we felt in different styles of music, almost like a parallel component connecting all things we like. In the process of recording the new album we kept coming back to this essence no matter what style the original idea was. There was the raw and brutal energy of Jazz-Rock, a lot of video game influences that somehow adhered this essence just as well as quieter Pop and Psychedelic passages that we recorded. Among other things we absorbed a lot of heavy music during the time of the recording like Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa or Jimi Hendrix and realized while writing our own music how much impact they had even on quieter songs. This is why "Rock“ felt like the perfect title although the music ranges from P-Funk and Spiritual Jazz to various styles of Pop and beyond.“

THE WEAVER’S OF DREAMS
Al Hough was born in the birthplace of jazz, New Orleans, La. His grandfather was the popular jazz composer and
pianist, Eddie Jackson, whose band RCA Victor recorded as its original mobile session in the early 1920's. Al's dad - Al
Sr.- was a vocalist with the famous 'Sons of the South' quartet in the '40's.
When he was still a child, Al's family left the Jim Crow south and headed North to New York City, Harlem (that dusky sash
across Manhattan -Langston Hughes).
Even while receiving a staid Catholic school education, by living 'uptown' Al breathed the vitality of the urban 'Rhythms of
the Street', the music, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Latin, classical whose sounds rang out from bars, street musicians , clubs and
Al's favorite haunt, The Apollo theater. He needed to join in . He got his first guitar at about age 10. He studied music
with two prominent NY jazz guitarists. As a teen, he sang in a number of Doo Wop groups who made appearances in
local TV shows along with recordings in the '50's and early '60's.
After high school, Al returned to New Orleans to study music at Xavier University. There he met his future wife who hailed
from Madison Wisconsin. Upon graduation, they married and returned to New York where he worked in Info Tech on Wall
Street. But he never stopped writing songs, with a number of them recorded at Capital and RCA . Sadly though, by the
early 1970's, New York was changing for the worse. So they and their two kids moved to Madison , where Al, while
employed as an IT consultant at a large insurance company, simultaneously sought out the city's musical talent.
Fortunately, he met Phil Kelman, keyboardist, flutist, composer, arranger and musical genius. They became fast friends
and began organizing the finest musicians, engineers and singers to bring Al's songs to tape. Members of The Weavers
of Dreams were some of the best Madison had to offer.

Jackie Allen-Vocals, Willie May-Vocals.
The songwriting and music the collective musicians were making was of the highest order. With this in mind Al made
several flights to New York around 1980 searching for a recording contract. Eventually getting a small deal with Carousel
Concepts owner David Ward.
To this day Al doesn't really know what happened with the deal. Or how many were actually pressed. In this all too familiar
story of long lost hopes and dreams Super Disco Edits are very proud to bring you THE WEAVERS OF DREAMS.
