A kind of military-industrial feedback loop exists between the world's most profitable tech companies and the IDF. Israel's elite cyber unit -- something like the NSA in the U.S. -- spots potential agents in high school and trains them up. They often leave after a few years, then go out into the world with their training and join with the most sophisticated tech firms internationally, making personal fortunes, supplying the IDF with tech -- such as Microsoft's "Azure" -- for their military operations. Note, that according to news agencies, on 26 Sept. 2025 Microsoft announced it is ending a 3-year program of storing surveillance data of Palestinians for Israel’s elite spy agency, Dept. 8200.
