The central theme around this project is “grief”. Grief is something we all go through at one point or another in our life times. And though grief and death is such a personal and sentimental thing for each of us, I believe that we can find solace in others through storytelling and ritual.
This is what I am trying to accomplish with this album.
I focus mainly on the stages of grief which I have narrowed down to Shock, Denial, Anger, Self-Pity, Depression, Testing, and Acceptance. Each track is meant to address one of these emotions, giving them meanings and substance , on a more in depth and personal level. I have really tried to grasp the real essence of each emotion and their existence in our lives to hopefully show a side of grief that contrasts the socially accepted definition.
