We proudly present to you our new vinyl release, Subactive strikes with their first 12” on our imprint. After the first 7” release with the legendary Mikey Murka, Subactive now teams up with El Fata and Danny Dread on the vocals and a mad Dub Version from Naram and Art out of Jahtari and Colonel Mustard.

Side A features El Fata on a relick of the Run Run Riddim, a modern digital style with fat basslines and melodic progression chords that will shake up the dancefloor. The dub version comes in a very different style and influenced by the German down-tempo dub culture.

On the B side we can find the veteran Danny Dread with his conscious lyrics and a dub version by Naram which is heavily influenced by Asian and Arabic sounds. This is a limited edition of 500 copies with our first full print sleeve. Both riddims will be found as a free download with all the orders through our online shops.

We Run England” is the debut single off the More Spiritual Riddim, a Green Lion production. Based around the iconic foundation dancehall melody created by legendary Jamaican producer Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes’, the More Spiritual riddim is the brainchild of Green Lion’s Dana ‘Chai’ Knowles and Zeke Stern. Stern went on to complete the riddim but not before traveling to Jamacia to add a horn section led by veteran horn players Nambo Robinson (trombone) and Everton Gayle (saxophone). Once complete, Stern selected reggae music’s most cutting edge artists to voice on the riddim including Million Stylez (“Fattie Fattie”), Kabaka Pyramid (“Rebel Music”), Perfect (“Hand Cart”) and YT (“Born In Babylon”) as well as two contributions from Mr Williamz. The first song to be released, “We Run England” traces Mr Williamz’ journey from Jamaica to his adopted home of England and then flips the script on social relations as we know them. Powerfully crafted but without losing its playfulness, “We Run England” is both fun and food for thought.

Max RubaDub, better known as „The Remix Junkie“ releases his personal milestone. After years of remixing for labels and artists from all over the world, he finally found time to sit down and work on his producer-album. Featuring voices like Luciano, Gappy Ranks, Voicemail or Lutan Fyah this LP brings along a high musical diversity. On 16 tracks he mixes all the different colors which Jamaican Bass music has to offer. Whether it is rub-a-dub, hiphop, steppers, dancehall or one-drop, Max dedicates his debut-album to the love of music.

Max RubaDub is truly unique. Like no one else, he mixes danceable beats with fresh vocals - whether it is mash up, dancehall, reggae or hip-hop - focussing on groovy music that keep your dancing feet moving; always surrounded by the Jamaican vibe. He plays what he likes and whatever makes the party going crazy; also new genres such as afrobeats or even shatta.

Having gained a lot of experience, Max knows exactly how to crank up the party and how to excite the party crowd anywhere. But this DJ is also an entertainer: with his hot sets, he is a welcome guest in the clubs and one of the most booked selectors in Switzerland.

He started his career as a member of the well-known Riot Soundsystem, with which he travelled all-over Switzerland and its neighbouring countries. But also as a solo DJ he managed to gain publicity by creating internationally acclaimed remixes for names as Chali 2na or Cypress Hill and by releasing mixtape series.

Meanwhile, the name Max RubaDub stands for quality. A further project is the SoundMax-Studio, in which he is experimenting and working on his latest remixes, is recording different artists or is refining his newest productions. He released his own music on several international labels such as Irish Moss Records (IR), Cast-a-Blast (GR), Gideon Production (CH), Superfly (PL) Ranking Reggae (CH) or on his own RubaDub Blends (CH).

The future seems to be bright: there are already new productions and mixes raring to be released and as usual Max RubaDub is willing to demonstrate his DJ-skills in the clubs. Watch out!

Max RubaDub ist ein Unikum. Wie kein zweiter mixt er tanzbare Beats mit freshen Vocals, egal ob Mash Up, Dancehall, Reggae oder Hip Hop, Hauptsache, der Sound groovt und geht direkt in die Beine. Der rote Faden ist der jamaikanische Vibe. Dabei macht Max auch vor Stilarten wie Afrobeats oder Shatta nicht Halt. Gespielt wird was gefällt – und abgeht!

Max RubaDub gelingt es dank seiner langjährigen Erfahrung, die Party zur rocken, welche diesen Namen auch verdient und die TänzerInnen landauf und -ab zu begeistern. Hier wird der DJ zum Entertainer: Mit seinen brandheissen Sets ist er gern gesehener Gast in den Clubs und einer der am meisten gebuchten Plattenaufleger der Schweiz.
