Der Beginn des September steht ganz im Zeichen der Entschleunigung. Eine neue Zeit beginnt, eine neue Reise erwartet uns. @ener-music hat das Ruder mit beiden Händen in die Hand genommen und manövriert das Schiff in bisher noch unbekannte Sphären des musikalischen Raumes.

Wir freuen uns sehr über diesen emotionalen Beitrag zu unser kleinen Serie und begrüßen mit @ener-music einen Rostocker Jungen, der zusammen mit der Faultierdisko Crew und seiner Podcast Serie "deep&smooth" zu einem Downbeat-Leuchtturm im Norden gewachsen ist.

Wir sind Éner schon seit einiger Zeit verfallen und haben seinen unverwechselbaren Sinn für entschleunigte Platten sehr sehr schätzen gelernt. Darüber hinaus liegt sein Fokus nicht auf irgendwelchen Hypes oder Trends, sondern vielmehr auf der Liebe zur Musik und Idee und Leidenschaft hinter dem Ganzen. Allein deshalb ist er etwas ganz besonderes und der MeeronautenCast eine absolute Perle.

dear honey bunnies!

we don't have any colourful eggs for you for easter, but a great colourful piece of musical arrangement of epic sounds, and purposely of a completely different kind!

today we present you a mixtape set from 'Magdeburch', which is a bit like our partner city, as a few of our crew come from there, some of them have moved back and the whole thing has become pretty intertwined over the years and so one of us was there not too long ago and became aware of the great @marvelski in the course of a private relaxed get-together...

'Eike' doesn't see himself as a DJ, but rather as a music lover and record collector, who was already addicted to music at a young age and at the latest since his teacher played "Paint In Black" in class, the good man has turned towards the 60th and all the original stuff.

deeply influenced by 'Bob Marley' and his general love of the dub sound, but also sparse stylistic and more experimental directions, he soon developed a passion and a certain talent for playing the perfect accompanying music at public non-dance events, such as flea markets, art exhibitions, bar evenings or even in gourmet food shops...

all original from vinyl and broadly diversified somewhere between soul, blues, jazz, baleraric and easy listening... gladly interpreted a little bit more abstract so that we also like to quote from his soundcloud page as follows:

"...if you can't mix, you at least have to play good records... play your favourite vinyl uncompromisingly at the speed that sounds best to you and make sure that it doesn't sound too abstract...".

so close your eyes, open your ears and enjoy this unelectronic work of music arts with a lot of LOVE and smooth, but positive POWER.

We all know this moment - you are lying in bed with a loved one and the world stands still.

You put on some music to set the scene for rising temperatures under the sheets…

The set you put on suddenly brings you out of rhythm, but getting up to skip the track is no longer an option.

We have been scouting for the perfect Sunday morning sets for quite a while already and while "Late Night Jockel Disko" & "Mattmosphere" have been steady suppliers of them for us, we also developed the idea of asking befriended artists to record one hour of music, to which they like to stay in bed with a loved one.

It's an intimate ask, but most of them said yes.

I'm often asked in interviews what my early influences were.
If I could have made a mixtape years ago like the ones I've been making more recently, then it would probably have sounded something like this.
71 tracks in 75 minutes, with mashups of up to 4 or 5 tracks playing at the same time.
Features many legendary artists of the time, from DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Orbital through to Portishead, Luke Vibert, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Shy FX & UK Apachi, Bonobo, 4hero, Adam F, Amon Tobin, Chemical Brothers, Red Snapper and Aquasky - with some Classical, Folk and Choral music, and Moondog, The Beta Band, Donovan, Jive Bunny, Velvet Underground, Herb Alpert and classic jungle thrown in.
Apart from appearances from Brian Eno and Derren Brown, this mixtape doesn't feature interviews and field recordings like the other mixtapes in the annual series, but it does still feature acapellas from J-Live, KRS-One, Common, Roots Manuva, Choclair and more.

I rammed some records in a bag, jumped into a cab, and played the first two hours. If he would have showed up only five minutes later, I would have started to play the b-sides, but it was very sweet.
