Ants being busy, grasses being automatically taken care of and electric divinations of every second object-machine companion on your desk. What you see is not what you see. Neither is what you see what you hear. Coming together of multiplicity of multiple affairs. What we hear is the heated-up bodies of uncountable ants crawling on what we call the earth – a composition and decomposition of countless microscopic movements? Corona-Winter 2020. The great TRAINING are to play a concert at Jazzfest-Berlin together with John Dieterich from Deerhoof. Based on field recordings that they have previously recorded and processed into loops. 3 Seconds Loops. Three seconds. But the concert could not take place as planned due to Corona. John Dieterich was not allowed to travel from the USA to Berlin. The festival could not take place with a live audience anyway.
But an extraordinary performance took place. John sent more audio tracks to Berlin, and TRAINING processed them live in the streaming concert. It resulted in one of the most gripping, intense streaming gigs of last year.
From the described live sessions, but also from the teaser tracks released in advance by Jazzfest Berlin, an album has now been created! The accompanying video work is by Işıl Karataş - she accompanied the whole project with her visual worlds.

We would like to sincerely thank Jazzfest Berlin and rbbKultur for their co-operation, which made this fantastic, space-, time- and pandemic-spanning project possible in the first place. And Goethe Institute for their support.

Max Andrzejewski (*1986) is a drummer and composer, living in Berlin.

His energetic musical work between contemporary composition and improvised music brings him all over the world for concerts and composition commissions. 
The „maverick aesthete“ (Süddeutsche Zeitung) Max  Andrzejewski studied drums at KHM Cologne and JIB Berlin. His own band HÜTTE won one of the biggest German Jazz Prices - Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis 2013. 
He also plays in and writes music for the experimental Rock duo TRAINING and the chamber musical group „Stemeseder Andrzejewski light/tied“. 
Max played in bands with Julien Desprez (ABACAXI), the experimental Surf band Expressway Sketches, Charles Gayle, Kalle Kalima, and many others.

Max composes contemporary music - commission works include works for Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Beethovenfest Bonn, Podium Festival Esslingen, Acht Brücken Festival, Ensemble Resonanz, Kammermusikfestival Regensburg, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Münchner Kammerspiele, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Maxim Gorki Theater a.o.
Max was on tour in Aserbaijan, Israel, Russia, Cuba, USA, Czech, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Egypt, Austria, Serbia, Switzerland, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexiko and appears on numerous albums on Traumton, Act, Pirouet, Wizmar, Unit, Jazzhaus, NWog, Whyplayjazz.
