We premiere a searing house music debut from Belfast artist Martha Dark challenges us to Promise to believe our instincts. Promise, the debut single by Irish artist Martha Dark, is a mesmerising ode to the classic era of Nineties-style Chicago house garnished with disco flavour.

Martha Dark’s debut release is due to be released on the Valencia-based label, the Basement Discos – known for signing high-quality and niche underground house talent. Martha Dark’s ‘Promise’ perfectly encapsulates the label’s goal as it portrays the empowering message of gospel house.

Promise commands your immediate attention with an instantly recognisable hook layered over a roaring funk-driven bassline that screams 90’s. The gospel influence is a merger between the soulful sounds of Chicago and Martha’s religious upbringing in Belfast. The Belfast native is attracted to blending gospel choirs and preachers in her music with a twist of the classic nineties-inspired House sound she grew up listening to. Starting his career as a producer & DJ 7 years ago, MAXIM has had standout appearances at Boiler Room, BCCO & Live From Earth Klub, along with his own collective First Contact. While primarily 4x4 focussed, MAXIM’s mixing style doesn’t conform to genre. His style can be often found fusing Techno and Trance with Electro, Breakbeat and UK inspired basslines. 

With that being said, MAXIM’s productions are recognised for their Trance Techno Aesthetic and have found their home on labels around the world, even as far as Colombia with his release 'Ilusion' on TnR Records and his latest Vinyl Release on Laburnūm Records. Other artists who have supported MAXIM's music are VTSS, SPF.DJ, Sara Landry, Future.666, Bailey Ibbs and more.
