I hope you enjoy my arrangement/cover of Forbidden Friendship from the movie How to Train Your Dragon (HTTYD). (This is my first time producing orchestral so I hope it was somewhat okay). Forbidden Friendship is a soundtrack composed by John Powell for the DreamWorks movie, How to Train Your Dragon. This is a moment where Hiccup and Toothless become friends. I really enjoyed the movie so I thought I'd reproduce the soundtrack in my own way. I hope you enjoyed my orchestral cover of Forbidden Friendship!

Here's a sneak peak of my mock-up of of "This Time For Sure" & "Astrid Goes For A Spin" from John Powell's score for How to Train Your Dragon. I'm using Orchestral Tool's new library, Berlin Brass. I've used a mix of the Tree, Surround, ORTF and Close II mics.

The first part with the Horns  is using the Horn Ens and all four solo horns in unison. Through the rest of the piece, I mostly use the four solo horns, with a few brief places where I use the Horn Ens patches for unison lines.

I'm using all three solo trumpets, and briefly the Trumpet Ens for unison lines. All solo trombones are heard along with solo tuba.

One thing I'm finding with this library is sometimes for unison lines, I actually prefer the sound of the solo instruments in unison as opposed to the ensamble patches.

For part of my high school senior project, I decided to transcribe part of a track from the score of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe. The piece will be performed by a select group of students at our instrumental music spring concert in May.
The piano part was taken from the piano and harp parts of arrangements of this piece found on MuseScore.com. The wind, string, and vocal parts were transcribed by ear.
