An Argentine artist with serious credentials under his belt and with many labels to his name and even more releases. From Habits Records, Momentz and prior success with Resopal Schallware and Thema. Bellomo is an artist with few boundaries as his productions will go some way to explain. A master of many shades of minimal this Argentinian has provided many highlights in 10 year plus career with his recent album punctuating his own decade old label Rationalism.

We are now extremely pleased to present this journey from Martin and after just a short listen to his mix will go some way to explain the talent at his disposal. The impressive thing about this mix however is that all tracks contained herein are all of his own design. Combining skipping percussion, thought provoking synth work and programing that is so intertwined that it is hard to tell where one track begins and one ends.

Tower blocks tagged in neon, street-lamps buzzing, gutters slick with oil… that’s the turf of the “yaourt-cats,” rooftop strays who meow a single warped word before melting back into shadow. Over grimy house-techno grooves their paws hammer the pulse, claws sampling the concrete: heavy kicks, filthy subs, synths as sour as a dented tin can. Four tracks built for after-midnight wandering—hood up, head down—guided by phosphorescent eyes toward the rave hiding deep in the alleyways.

Forthcoming in the next week is KRB002, our second vinyl-only release. With the record so close to release, we are very fortunate and eager to showcase an hour long mix from remixer Nick Beringer, who’s mix provides the perfect example of not only why we were so eager to have him on board but why he is one of the most sought after artists in the industry. 

It is often said of Nick Beringer that he is a defender of the good old Berlin style. What that means is instead of flashy tricks and effects-heavy sets, he locks people in with his perfect pacing, timely selections and long mixes. Atmospheric house, dub techno and freakier electro define his always journeying soundtracks. Of course, he will also pull out the classics and jump through styles to suit the mood of amore playful party, or trip you out with weirdness at the afters. Either way, a knowing skill underlines everything he does in the booth.

Nick started out in indie bands playing guitar, eventually moving on to making his
own beats and sampling from his Nintendo GameBoy, the only electronic sounds he had to hand. A move to Berlin to study lead him on an exploration of the city’s nocturnal soundscapes. A fascination with nineties house and garage informed his first releases, and also lead him to an enduring friendship with Beste Modus.

Initially a vinyl-only DJ inspired by the analogue warmth, human roughness and deep feelings of the likes of Mike Huckaby and Moodymann, Nick eventually evolved his set up and now uses all tools at his disposal to find his perfect sweet spot.
Since 2015 he has spent a few days a week in his studio, meditating on music
and going wherever the mood takes him. As such he will often find himself making
ambient, hip hop or techno without knowing how he got there. “If you’re only trying to chase a certain style that is fashionable right now, tracks will always sound forced,” he says rightly. “What I’m trying to do is to pick out my favourite pieces from modern styles, but take them back to the old school Detroit and Berlin kinda approach, which is stripped down and club focused house music.”

Inspired to turn on his hardware by a wide range of starting points, Nick is able to
strip things right down to their bare essentials and still suck in the dancers and make a lasting impression. Evidence of this comes in his diverse discography on labels like Taverna Tracks, Dorian Paic’s Raum Musik, a forthcoming remix on Krab Records, and his own label Rubisco where he can release whatever he likes. Past EPs like Nocturnal, Passage or Slope & Dip showcase his seamless mix of the old and the new and have resulted in truly timeless club tracks.

All of this has made Beringer an in demand name by tasteful clubs and crews across Australia, Europe and at hotspots like Watergate and Tresor. His own crew, which also hosts parties in clubs like Griessmuehle and Ipse, is a thriving collective full of creativity and is one of the reasons Nick Beringer is now an essential part of house and techno conversation in Berlin and beyond

Some things just cannot be missed in life. Like the record box of your big brother. If he’s DJ on top of that, fate seems to be sealed. In 2007, at the tender age of 17, Maximilian Grün moved in with his brother in Vienna and found himself behind the decks soon. At first only at private afterparties, shortly thereafter in the clubs of the capital. Always with a strong focus on driving Tech House tracks and an intuitive sense for a never-ending good vibe—not only on the dancefloor. New friendships were born, and Maxi teamed up with Alecante, the host of Vienna's most well-known afterhour: "Sunday Mornings". Soon Maxi became a popular resident DJ there and played sets side by side with greats such as Valentino Kanzyani, Ian F or Praslea, Seth Troxler.

This early leap into the cold water of Vienna drew large circles in the then manageable scene, and so it happened that perhaps the most famous club in Vienna at this time, the Flex on the Danube Canal, offered him its own series of events started 2010: »BeLoved« was born. He also hosted the open-air event "Millhouse" twice a year in his homeland Carinthia — electronic vacation with friends you could say.

After these first intense years, which led him from his DJ baptism of fire at the bar 25 in Berlin over Geneva, Zurich, Munich and Prague even to Thailand, Maxi pulled then for full four years the creative ripcord. Listening instead of playing was the order of the day. But you don’t escape your fate so easily. And so he's been back behind the decks since 2017r. A few experiences richer, with many good tracks more in stack.
