The Iwakura Mission or Iwakura Embassy (岩倉使節団, Iwakura Shisetsudan) was a Japanese diplomatic voyage to the United States and Europe conducted between 1871 and 1873 by leading statesmen and scholars of the Meiji period. It was not the only such mission, but it is the most well-known and possibly most significant in terms of its impact on the modernization of Japan after a long period of isolation from the West. The mission was first proposed by the influential Dutch missionary and engineer Guido Verbeck, based to some degree on the model of the Grand Embassy of Peter I.

The aim of the mission was threefold; to gain recognition for the newly reinstated imperial dynasty under the Emperor Meiji; to begin preliminary renegotiation of the unequal treaties with the dominant world powers; and to make a comprehensive study of modern industrial, political, military and educational systems and structures in the United States and Europe.

The Iwakura Mission followed several such missions previously sent by the Shogunate, such as the Japanese Embassy to the United States in 1860, the First Japanese Embassy to Europe in 1862, and the Second Japanese Embassy to Europe in 1863.

مأموریت ایواکورا سفر دیپلمات‌های ژاپن به ایالات متحده آمریکا و اروپا بود که از ۲۳ ژانویه ۱۸۷۱ تا ۱۳ سپتامبر ۱۸۷۳ انجام شد. این تنها یک مأموریت نبود، بلکه برجسته‌ترین و احتمالاً مهم‌ترین سفر از نظر اثرگذاری بر مدرن سازی ژاپن پس از یک دوره طولانی انزوا از جهان غرب می‌باشد.
مأموریت ایواکورا اولین بار توسط «گیدو وربک» (Guido Verbeck)، مبلغ و مهندس بانفوذ هلندی پیشنهاد شد. این سفر تا حدودی از سفر پتر کبیر به اروپای غربی برگرفته شده بود.
این مأموریت سه هدف داشت؛ به رسمیت شناخته شدن[۲]امپراتوری تازه احیا شده تحت فرمان امپراتور میجی؛ آغاز مذاکرات مجدد مقدماتی دربارهٔ معاهدات نابرابر با قدرت‌های جهانی حاکم؛ و انجام مطالعات جامعی از سیستم و ساختارهای صنعتی، سیاسی، نظامی و آموزشی نوین در ایالات متحده آمریکا و اروپا.[۳]
پیش از مأموریت ایواکورا، هیئت‌های مشابه‌ای توسط شوگانته،حکومت سابق ژاپن اعزام شده بود، از جمله هیئت اعزامی ژاپن به ایالات متحده آمریکا در سال ۱۸۶۰، نخستین هیئت اعزامی ژاپن به اروپا در سال ۱۸۶۲ و دومین هیئت اعزامی ژاپن به اروپا در سال ۱۸۶۳.

BIO:
Rotterdam based Bram VanK's passion is house and techno music with a progressive edge and soul, deep and melodic.
After a successful start producing music (under monikers as Funkstar Criminal, Max Dione, Groove Doctor, RB Fusion) back in 1999. Bram took a break around 2008. After that break of well over 12 years, stimulated by family and friends, Bram is back in the game of songwriting, producing and a bit djing.

Bram is inspired by artists like Funk D'void, Laurent Garnier, Sven Väth, Carl Craig and Dimitri Kneppers. So receiving support from the likes of Funk D'void, Dimitri Kneppers, Colin Dalle and Katotte on his recent releases like the 'Get On With It' EP, 'In Town' EP, ‘Becasue My Boss Sais So!’ and ‘ Dance De La Folie’ is an amazing bonus and huge recognition. And such much more is coming. For now secrets ….but keep an eye out!
