Premiere: Modest Crow & Acado - Gobi [Motek]

To celebrate us reaching 500 likes on Facebook and SoundCloud and as a way to say thank you to everyone who has supported our journey this far, we prepared a special free track for you all.

The story and inspiration behind this track is quite a funny one. We were booked to perform on the main stage at a wonderful festival in Germany last year. We arrived to a full dance floor and packed backstage area about 15 minutes before our set time to familiarize ourselves with the stage and equipment. Suddenly, we were approached by a very friendly, bespectacled festival goer who sported some seriously wonderful pajama pants. After a few minutes of friendly banter, he stopped, looked at us, and in a deep almost drone-like voice asked “DO YOU PLAY PSYCHEDELIC?” It was in that moment that we knew, a new track was born.

Reinhard Voigt returns to his own label KOMPAKT with another episode of satiric techno to enlighten today’s current trend of deadpan dance music.

Since the 1990’s, Reinhard has brought an unparalleled spirit into the techno scene through outrageously energetic live shows and the many releases under alias such as SRI, Pentax plus of course his ongoing collaboration Voigt & Voigt together with esteemed brother, Wolfgang Voigt.

Reinhard embraces all that wildlife has to offer with “Was wir spüren”. Starting things off with the future afterparty anthem, “Das singende, klingende Ding” the bass drum is there to guide the lost and found through a voracious bee storm as the rooster crows gloriously towards duck quacking oblivion.

“Tausendmal zu viel” fits perfectly as the soundtrack for to the artwork created by Mareena von Cube – a tormented hymn loops its way to the warriors of the never world.

“Der Mann, der nie nach Deutz kam” is classic Reinhard Voigt techno at peak-time point. A throttling bass drum is voraciously fuelled by the jungle twilight.

Badarchin means from Mongolian language wandering monk and in our meaning this is a dancing pilgrim who travels the world and searching for new melodies.

A few weeks ago we asked music producers to work there magic on a Christmas tune. They had to use the Instruments for Change sample pack. They created something we can’t wait to share. We also want to thank all the others that participated.

All donation proceeds go to Sounds of Change. A charity that uses music to train Community Builders to harness the power of music in their work with young people in refugee camps and marginalized communities in the Middle East.

The Instruments for Change sample pack and VST instrument contains unique sounds from Syria, Turkey and Senegal.
