KataHaifisch was born in 2015 as a podcast series on SoundCloud. The original mission? To provide a stage for fresh talent within the electronic music scene. What started as a springboard for newcomers quickly evolved into a trusted hub for established artists and creatives alike.

In 2020, we took the next step and transformed from a podcast project into a fully-fledged record label with a distinct sonic identity. We are dedicated to the deep and melodic sides of electronic music: driving Indie Dance, earthy Organic House, and hypnotic Down- & Midtempo grooves.

Since then, our weekly Thursday podcasts have been complemented by regular releases on all major platforms, curating a sound that works just as well for deep listening as it does for the club. Whether you are looking for fresh discoveries or your next favorite track, we invite all music lovers to tune in, dig deep, and get lost in the sound.

KataHaifisch wurde 2015 als eine Podcastreihe auf SoundCloud gegründet. 
Der Ursprungsgedanke? Neuen Talenten aus der elektronischen Musikszene eine Bühne bieten. Was als Sprungbrett für Newcomer*innen begann, wurde schnell auch zur Anlaufstelle für etablierte Artists und Künstler*innen aller Art.

2020 folgte der nächste Schritt: Aus einem Podcast Projekt wurde ein eigenes Label mit Fokus auf Down-Midtempo, Indie Dance & Organic House Seitdem gibt’s zu den wöchentlichen Donnerstagspodcasts auch regelmäßige Releases auf allen gängigen Plattformen.

Emile V. aka EMOG is a renowned psychedelic dub and downtempo/lo-fi artist from Vancouver, BC. Beginning his musical journey with guitar and piano, he soon gravitated toward the psychedelic realm, crafting a distinctive blend of organic melodies, deep bass, and cosmic atmospheres. 
His music has been released on respected labels such as Merkaba Music and Mystic Sound Records, further solidifying his presence in the global psychedelic scene.
From Vancouver’s underground to international stages including Envision, Free Earth, and Shambhala, EMOG is celebrated for transformative performances that merge live instrumentation, hypnotic rhythms, and immersive visual storytelling. 
As the founder of Gaia Sound Music Events, he continues to support and shape the psychedelic community.  EMOG — Ecstatic Music of Gaia — invites listeners into hidden realms of sound and spirit: inspired by the sound, driven by the music.

With his most recent releases on Selador, Sum Over Histories, Poker Flat, Sincopat, Mobilee and Sudbeat, Dave Seaman, one of true the legends of electronic house music, is on a creative roll. A globally respected DJ for over 25 years, he’s played in over 80 countries around the world and remains an exceptional artist who is always looking to the future. His label together with Steve Parry, Selador Recordings has been one of the most exciting labels around since its inception 10 years ago, releasing many different colours of house and techno and in this current world of limited shelf life, ever-diminishing attention spans and fast-moving, here-today-gone-tomorrow disposable club culture, it is the mark of true talent and dedication that Dave Seaman is still very much 
on everyone’s radar.

From the country to the city, Bec Grenfell is renowned for her seamless dj sets and unique blend of ethereal techno and house music. Over the last 15 years she has gained a huge amount of respect with many of the big players in Australia, subsequently scoring performances at the prestigious Rainbow Serpent Festival 4 years in a row, as well as many other festivals such as Strawberry Fields, Elements, Babylon, Luft, Beyond the Valley, Piknic Electronik, and Circoloco. Bec has also recently played internationally at the world renown club The Block in Tel Aviv & Ozora. Not to mention a slew of the Australia's best clubs like Revolver, 161, Xe54, Circus and Brown Alley alongside Melbourne's finest promoters Novel, Thick as Thieves, Untitled Group, Stable Music, Wildwood, Hardware, Nu techno, Arteq & One More Tune. 

When it comes to passion for quality music, whether it be old or new, Bec Grenfell has it down to a fine art. Playing her own definition of a much broader spectrum of electronic music, Bec’s music is best described as a unique style of melodic ethereal undertones with heavy basslined house and techno. She loves less obvious or predictable sound landscapes as she believes the unknown is always more attractive. 

Bec's passion for music delves deeply to a neuroscience level with her avid research on music's powerful effects on the brain in neurological conditions and her rehabilitation for people with cognitive and movement disorders.

Bec is constantly pushing the boundaries with her visionary sounds, paving the way for female artists in the underground scene. She lets her music knowledge and over 15 years of experience in the scene do the talking. She really knows how to capture and excite an audience with her smoothly transitioned sets and individual groove which separates her from the numerous generic “techno” artists that are seen today. Her stage presence is second to none, bringing you a journey of euphoria and electricity, leaving you questioning what the hell you are listening to!

Copenhagen’s Anders Trentemøller has long been respected as a creator of extraordinarily memorable melodies and dark soundscapes. While many artists follow a pattern of invention and reinvention, Anders’ arc has been a series of points along the same curve, playing the long game with each release representing the next chapter in a constantly evolving series.

Dreamweaver continues on this track, combining elements of shoegaze, dark wave, motorik, noise rock and somber, introspective takes on electronic pop but in a considerably more psychedelic manner. The chronology of its 10 songs is an immersive experience that presents additional otic pleasures when headphones are strapped on.
