The inspiration for this musical journey originated from the quaint village of Hinterdupfing itself. The accidental arrival of stranded vacationers set the stage for an extraordinary encounter between worlds. 

Hinterdupfing, situated in Bavaria, serves as a symbol for those clinging to the past and embodies a sense of provincialism. Thankfully, it's merely a fictional village, as who would willingly reside in a place branded with such a "distinction"? The Schmidbauer film has been running successfully in cinemas since May 2014. Now, as of November 28, 2014, it's available on DVD and as a CD soundtrack.

In a nutshell, the film follows a group of vacationers inadvertently stranded in this "village." For the villagers, this turns into an opportunity to boost tourism, though not without its drawbacks.

....The CD introduces us to some familiar faces, including Hubert von Goisern with his hit "Brenna tuats guat," and Django 3000 with "Heidi." Keller Steff composed the title song, capturing an almost rustic spirit. Amidst the mostly Bavarian dialect songs, there are a total of eleven beautifully crafted instrumental, jazz-inflected compositions by Max Joseph Resch. Some of these are accompanied by brass sections. The "Hinterdupfing Theme" is a wonderfully atmospheric instrumental featuring slide guitar accents, touches of electric guitar, and subtle percussion backing. "Dieselgroove" marches with authority, yielding jazzy, captivating melodic arcs, and concludes abruptly. For me, Resch's interludes are the standout surprise of the soundtrack!

Für die Ewigwachgebliebenen zum Feierabendbier, für die Frühaufsteher als Seelenfutter zum Wochenbeginn: Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise. Alles erlaubt, was gut tut und Gedanken kreisen lässt, nur der Name ist Programm: cremig, fluffig und ganz schön weich. 
Diesmal mit Mira, Prinzessin vergangener Bretterbuden und felidaer Feierkultur an der Spree. Auf Wanderssohlen in Fernost das einzige Stück Schmusik von ihr in diesem Monat, gerührt auf zweieinhalb Stunden. Frei nach dem Motto: Wer bummelt läuft länger.
