Finding inspiration from the likes of classic-alternative rock, blues and folk music genres, Impressive Mess has been cultivating a unique sound of their own, writing songs and recording by way of studio and bedroom sessions.

"I give credit to God for guiding my path in life which brought me to Nashville Tennessee where I call home going on 34 years. I was born and raised in Central Oregon and at around the age of fourteen I found that playing guitar and writing songs gave expression to the growing pains I experience during the tender years. Music gave my unwanted emotions and confusing feelings a safe place to settle so I could move on.
My sister Maxie was my inspiration who helped kick start my music career when she ask me to learn to play the bass guitar because her band needed one. Fast forward to 1988 .. I packed up my dog and all the songs my sister Maxie and I recorded (along with my boyfriend who eventually became my husband of 21 years, presently my ex-husband), and drove to Nashville Tennessee! After arriving we found out just how tightly cinched the Bible belt was in 1988! We could not rent a house because we were not married (soon to be) so we made the local KOA campground our home during one of the hottest summers on record in Tennessee! Shortly after our wedding our beautiful baby boy was born, Chaz Tyler. In 1991 I and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior! Thank God for the Bible Belt!
Maxie moved her family to Nashville so we could pursue our music career. Leaving our family and friends in Central Oregon was a big sacrifice. As a Sister Act, we turned a lot of heads but more importantly we made many great memories! So I think it’s only fitting that the first video is of my sister Maxie and me performing on a National TV show in Nashville TN called “You Can be a Star”. NOTE: We called ourselves “Sterling Silver” at that time, but we will always be “The Bex Sisters”!"

I am a songwriter I have wrote songs since I was a young girl! Writing songs have saved my sanity more then once.That means all my songs have to do with emotion and thats ok.I am not much on performing or even singing my own songs but I have because of pure having to do so ,that was just the way it was. In order to get my songs heard I had to sing. So I sing my songs to you ! Whoever will listen and if thats as far as it will go then thats ok, because I have already been a success as far as songwriting goes. Even though I haven't had a number one hit Yet! So smile and keep on writing just because we can my fellow songwriters and sing all you artists because if not for you some songs would never be heard!
