Max Plattner draws on elements from jazz, electronic and new music, as well as rock and hip-hop, creating an emotionally charged sound that leaves plenty of room for improvisational moments. The boundaries of rhythm and harmony are consciously explored and atmospheric spaces are created.
This marks a break with the musical standards of recent years. At a time when more and more artists* are trying to conform to a certain genre or sound, Plattner's new album sets an example for artistic freedom and individuality.

Austrian jazz drummer Max Plattner is known for his melodic, expressive and dynamic playing on the drums. With PLOY he manages to interpret music in a new way and proves that interesting and innovative sound carpets can be woven far away from the usual standards. ‘Implode'xplode' ist a homage to the threshold between the inner and the outer world. It is about the daily dance with the inputs and outputs of information. The awareness when it’s time to hold space for yourself to prevent implosions or when to celebrate and embody the explosions fully.
With this song, Elena reminds oneself of the capacity of our own body and the recognition of its warning signals, that show up when its too much.
In the society we are living in, quantity and speed took over and overstimulation turned into a norm.
“Through my tendency of overdoing it with work and tight schedules, that song kind of came out naturally, when I needed it the most.
'Implode'xplode' is not only a timeless reminder to care and listen to my body more but it also encourages me to fully embrace the explosions when they come in
and channel it into music, dance or any other type of creation with full power."
