Robsoul welcome talent UK artist Barney Osborn to the fold! 
New name to the label but definitely not a new name in house music; as a label owner Barney runs things at Jacked Out Trax, as a producer he’s released his signature widescreen, bumping flavours on the likes of Spiritualized, Groove Lounge, Bid Music (to name but a few), as a DJ he’s played at some of the most seminal club institutions in the UK from Ministry to The Arches. 
Most importantly, as a purveyor of fine, jazz-tinged, floor-firing timeless house grooves, he’s been on Robsoul boss Phil Weeks’ radar for some years. Now time to make that radar a reality with ‘Dusty Hats’, an epic four-tracker that hits the spot with the grooviest hammer possible. 
Full-flavoured feels and some fantastic samples at play, each cut is tailored for mixing, chopping and delighting the dance. ‘Confrontation’ brings a little Afro magic into the mix, ‘Lil Sacrifice’ is dusted with some fine piano licks and Latin soul, ‘Dusty Hats’ blows the cobwebs away with its XXXL beats and cascading jazzy keys while ‘Outta Town’ brings on a sweet and horny finale.

'Catch My Groove' goes hard with no-nonsense 4/4 drums, flaring hi-hats, and a heavy bassline. Spacey pads, synths licks, and swanky vocal chops bring it all together into a proper groover.

James Curd is back on his freshly minted PRONTO label with more cultured musical manoeuvres, serving an enthralling original track alongside a quartet of inspired remixes on the ‘Psychedelic Freak EP’.

The multi-talented musician and producer began his career in his Chicago hometown at the tender age of 15, his vast range and musical scope leading to a stream of releases on some of the electronic underground’s most recognised imprints. Exploited, Dirtybird, Tsuba, Trax Records, Classic Records and Ministry Of Sound are just some of those to have championed his sound, helping to solidify his position as a beloved mainstay in and beyond the polychromatic dance spectrum. ‘Psychedelic Freak’ is the third release to arrive on his new PRONTO imprint, brilliantly maintaining the supreme quality threshold set by the first two instalments while welcoming on board an intriguing cast of guest remixers.

The original version finds Adelaide-based Curd in typically sparkling form. Hypnotic vocal chops rise over throbbing drums and weighted bass, with intricate synth textures carefully intertwined as evocative pads and bubbling arpeggios combine to set the heads-down mood. Next, man of the moment Tour Maubourg re-imagines the track as a sumptuous deep house groover. Here, the prolific Parisian pitches the distinctive vocal licks against a solid four/four rhythm, with luscious chords, staccato stabs and swung snares combining for an irresistibly authentic backroom meditation.

Adding a healthy dose of disco charge to the sonics, Swedish duo Drop Out Orchestra work their familiar magic into the music. Full-bodied slap bass, funk-flecked guitar and stirring horns are elegantly blended, the dynamic arrangement evolving as soaring strings and cerebral chord progressions enliven the groove. Not to be outdone, James Curd steps in with his explosive ‘Mushroom Mix’, upping the tempo and adding impossibly propulsive live bass as acid lines undulate and effervescent fills drive the rhythm.

Up next, Rex Club regular and renowned digger Ten Fingerz joins the fray with his ‘Freaky French Mix’, reframing the cut with the help of deviant overdubs, emotive chords and thick synth bass over robust dancefloor drums. Finally, completing an unmissable package with a contagious vocal flourish is the ‘MTS HER Boot’ version. Here, the acid-soaked ‘Mushroom’ mix is reprised with the addition of ???’s slick vocal flow — embalming an already driving composition with a vivacious lyrical thrust.

Hyper-compelling material across the board, this is yet more magnificent production and curatorial work from James Curd, with the PRONTO brand quickly becoming seared into the hearts and minds of the dance community's most informed selectors and collectors.

Cinthie’s we_r house welcomes UK artist Simon Shaw onto its roster with a four- track EP for the labels ninth release.

Southern England’s Simon Shaw has been building a steady production career over the past few years after cutting his teeth as a DJ and promoter over the past decade, recent times have seen him release material on DJ Steaw’s House Puff and his own Sense Traxx amongst others. Here though he joins we_r_house, following releases from Carlo Gambino and Sam Haskin this year.

‘Crystal’ takes the A1 slot, fusing hazy dubbed out chords, square wave bass stabs and swirling synths with a sturdy rhythmic foundation and an amalgamation of spoken word vocals. ‘Meth’ follows next, laying focus on heavily swung, dynamic drums an organ like melodic hook and sweeping delays throughout.

First up on the flip is ‘Late Night In Milan’, stripping things back to skippy percussion and bumpy sub hits at it’s core while sequences of airy deep house chords and bright strings ebb and flow within. ‘It’s Not The Way’ then completes the EP, retaining a similar aesthetic via snaking low-end hits, shuffled drums and ethereal synth textures while stirring in a heady resonant swell and chanting vocals to keep things moving.
