I spent a couple of hours today recording my horrible voice and guitar playing because I haven't put anything out in a while and wanted to see what people think. If they like this then I'm happy to make much more covers and maybe some originals in this style, but a little more polished than this seemingly rough mix. I'd love to get on the acoustic circuit as a rock/outlaw country musician. Keep your ears open and enjoy the music. 'Get paid, get laid and have fun'

Molly's Chambers (Kings Of Leon cover)

A pretty personal version of Townes' song. Love the lyrics and the unsentimental honesty of the first lines - "Won't say I love you babe / Won't say I need you babe / But I'm gonna get you babe / And I will not do you wrong"

To Live is to Fly (Townes Van Zandt) - one take only

I'm covering another of my favourite tracks. I arranged and recorded this cover version in about an hour and a half. I can't sing some of the high notes so I do this horrible falsetto thing. Hope you like it anyway, I feel that my singing voice is improving overall. Guitars and vocals all by Jake Stanley, no virtual instruments.

Be Yourself (Audioslave cover)

I reworked this classic track from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang into a Maxwell Stanley style song. This version is dedicated to my great grandmother, who used to look after me as a child. She died a few years ago now, but we would always watch classic films like this when I spent my time there.

Hushabye Mountain (Cover)

Another cover for you. This is my first released recording done using the REAPER DAW. I'm very impressed with it. It's priced very reasonably and supports most hardware and VSTs, oh and it supports MIDI etc. I nicked the drum sample from the original song and messed about with it a bit. Hope you enjoy it. Also, I spent two days on this track (more than I ever spend on my recordings).
