As some of you might have guessed by now, music is incredibly important to me. I can't imagine not having the ability to express my creativity and discover more about myself through music; I've always had the option of studying, creating, and performing on musical instruments. I don't know where I would be if my family hadn't been economically able to provide me with all those opportunities. 

Therefore, I think it's important for me to give back. I want to do what I can to help make such opportunities available for people that otherwise couldn't afford them. In an ideal world, monetary barriers wouldn't hinder anyone's ability to experience self-discovery, creativity, and personal growth through music. Although this may only be a small contribution, hopefully I can help lift some of those barriers by donating any money generated by my new single "Everchanging", which comes out on Monday, to VH1 Save The Music Foundation. "I woke up at about 10:30 and walked with my laptop through my garden and up to my studio. I plugged into my speakers, opened photoshop, then played the song. The song kind of transported my into a different world with that really epic sounding guitar lead and kind of tribal drums. I knew the image had to be something that would take you to a surreal place as well. The track is very neon and clean, but the dissonance of the distorted guitar created this tension that I kind of wanted to relay through color. This is why I went with the bright color palette but also chose to anchor it with a lot of blacks and grays." -English

The Fat! Club EP 001 is the first in a new series of free mini-compilations showcasing tracks from some of the UK’s most exciting underground producers. 

Established in 1997, The Fat! Club encompasses a record label, blog, club night and management agency. This long running commitment to UK underground music has seen Chew The Fat! host arenas at festivals across the UK and Europe, monthly parties around the globe, and five consecutive summer residencies at We Love…Space Ibiza.

Now more than ever the UK underground scene is overflowing with creative minds and upfront beats, and The Fat! Club is as passionate as ever about new talent. 

This first instalment features music from Pále, who after releasing on Fat! Records and Four40 in 2012 was named one of XLR8R’s ones to watch for 2013, along with fellow Fat! cohort Wolf Cub. As one third of Transmission Collective Wolf Cub is set for a big year as their label, Transmission Audio Recordings, continues to go from strength to strength. Newcastle based Moe has been bubbling up for a while now, with forthcoming music dropping on MadTech. London based duo DE$iGNATED are already forging out a signature sound, and with some wicked collaborations in the pipeline are set for big things. Rounding off the EP are Origins Sound, a collective of DJs and producers from Bath, who’ve been causing a stir with their parties at The Porters.
