So exited to share my closing DJ set at Ecstatic Dance Melbourne's 2023 finale! The diverse crowd and fluid dance styles created a dynamic atmosphere that went from meditation through to full blown cathartic release. My set, spanning various genres, resonated with the engaged audience, blurring the line between tempos and energetic dynamics, leaving an indelible mark on everyone present. It was a transformative and magical conclusion to a year filled with connection and unity.

We begin the practice in a meditative state hence ambient, organic and downtempo sounds proceed the first part of all my Ecstatic Dance mixes at Ecstatic Dance Melbourne until Madhu opens. If necessary you can fast forward to around 50 minutes in to where uptempo beats drop after this and we swing into a dance floor grove elevating, then finding ecstasis or our peak moments together around 1 hour 40 minutes, then ending in sultry solstice prayerful guidance by the wonderful Madhu Honey once again. Enjoy.

For Amani Friend and his Liquid Bloom project, the Re:Generations mixes are a gift that keeps on giving. First remixed by AtYyA, who took on the entire album by himself, now an all-star cast of subsonic wizards from around the globe are putting their own spin on these intoxicating tunes. 

Stars of the psychedelic world like Hedflux and Land Switcher pump thrilling bass into “Roots of the Earth”and “Fire Gathering,” respectively. Kaminanda takes “Sacred Blessing” on a more than 11-minute epic journey. Numatik ignites new life into Fire Gathering .Suduaya, Momentology, Salis, and Nanosphere run the gamut from rich, organic strings and ethereal voices to dark, brooding, and bellowing sub bass covering the spectrum from delicate, ambience to pounding grooves. TRIBONEonce again remixes Deya Dova for a Desert Trax release, and Erothyme closes out the collection with a sprawling anthem of lush sounds.

Succeeding the release of Desert Dwellers’ monumental Breath album, Amani and Treavor continue their patronage to cultural celebration and musical heritage with Breath Reimagined Vol. 1. Featuring an abundance of new-comers to the Desert Dwellers sound, this inaugural volume shall precede a trilogy of remix albums to come from the ingenious duo. Throughout Breath Reimagined, 14 brilliant producers within the psychedelic and world-fusion communities exhibit 14 euphonious recreations, each derived from one of the original 10 tracks.

Falling into an altered state of consciousness, Halfred recreates “Dreams Within a Dream” with dub bestrewn over alluring instrumentals. Once you leave your meditative state, Nanosphere merges seductive instrumentation with funky low frequencies as we continue “Traversing the Endless Road.” Forging ahead, Gumi guides you through a turbulent wind of dynamic and atmospheric beats in “Closed Eyes in a Dust Storm.” Traveling by foot, you discover the “One That Shows The Way” through MantisMash’s sonorous synths and Somatoast’s soprano rendition. 

As you begin “Longing For Home,” DISSØLV raises the original downtempo piece an octave higher to create a sonic soundscape while Mindex incorporates elements of glitch. Mumukshu reinvents the original global folk “At Last, Our Refugee” track into a resounding four-minute bass voyage that overlays an accelerated tribal trap foundation. “Praise Her, the Fire Keeper” receives reimaginations from Pitch Black, who adds a bass backdrop to the tranquil piece, and TRIBONE, who takes the composition underground. As listeners continue to explore the “Realms of Splendor,” DRRTYWULVZ commences a series of bass undertones as metal continuously rattles together in Erothyme’s recreation. Globular’s Vicious Ether Remix of “To Be the Air” fosters an upbeat environment for the buoyant acoustic atmosphere. Compelling you back into deep meditation as Breath Reimagined concludes, Bluetech’s Berlin School Mix introduces Holotropic Breathwork to “Breathing the Mysteries.”
