Maya Tonia Jae Hardison "Maya B," was born in Camden, New Jersey to a driven bass player (her father) and a mother whose beautiful voice she inherited. From the age of two, Maya could carry a tune and her true talent began to blossom in her elementary years. 

Like so many before her, Maya B got her start in a small town church choir. But unlike many, she was determined to make music her life's work. At 16, Maya B enrolled in the Creative Arts High School in nearby Philadelphia, majoring in vocal music and minoring in dance. It was there that her natural talent was refined, and a professional vocalist was made. 

With talent, beauty and big dreams in tow, Maya left her native New Jersey for the bustling entertainment scene in Altanta, Georgia - and it wasn't long before she began to roll out heartfelt indie tracks under her original stage name, "Tonia Jae." 

Today, Maya B's independent work continues and new life blessings (a husband and three children) act as the inspiration for her songwriting. She once said " my husband is my muse," - a naked truth that her listeners will come to realize in songs like "Boom."
