This fusion festival was - again - everything. Amazing artists, lots of rain, a camp full of new friends, and I had the honors of playing on two small stages. Even though both sets were interrupted for reasons beyond my control you all showed me so much love on the dancefloor I teared up afterwards. I'm happy that the recording of the second set worked. It was the daytime one on Friday eve. From dreamy sounds to space disco and back. Excited to hear what you think. Big love to the crews for having me and see you hopefully next year. ❤️

Oliver Huntemann, a master craftsman of techno, brings his signature style to the mix—a style that's been honed in the vibrant city of Hamburg. "Mayan Warrior, midnight, on a beautiful Wednesday night. An unofficial G camp takeover with all our camp mates playing one after the other on the new beautiful Galaxyer. I had stopped a couple of days earlier to check the new art car and I couldn't be more excited to play. For this set, I wanted my sound to honor how Mayan has influenced me over the years - guitars, indie dance, spacey sounds - but I also wanted to bring a bit of how my sound has changed lately, after regular visits to play in Berlin and also a new love for high bpm house music. I felt great when I stepped in. I wanted to be aggressive and I did: Played many new tracks, took some quirky turns and risked the mixing. As with every set, it is hard to take it out of context but It shows exactly how I felt that night. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed it back then.

Thank you Asaf, Jenia, for the unreleased beauties!! Thank you to the Mayan family for creating such an insane platform for expression, I know how much hard work goes on behind the scenes!

What will be the most precious among our nostalgic memories - the first rush of endorphins in like forever? Well, Niki Sadeki might not have had this future nostalgia in mind when she hit the record button, but she definitely created its perfect soundtrack.

Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.
