"It has been a journey of two years since the last Burning Man and the anticipation was electric. To be able to play music on Burn night was a dream come true and I am forever grateful for the unwavering support of the Mayan Warrior crew for so many years.

The Mayan Warrior may  just be a vehicle to many, but to me it means so much more. It is a home, a family and a source of endless joy and inspiration. I was grateful for every moment I spent on its decks, lost in the magic of the music, lasers and the flames. I knew that playing Saturday night would be an everlasting memory for me and I hope it was for those that were present."

¨Returning to the desert after two years and playing on the impressive new Galaxyer art car for my Mexican fam surrounded by so many dear friends was pure bliss and very emotional for me. I touched almost the sunrise of Thursday morning and could dance under the pink clouds framed by the iconic lasers and the impressive fire show. 

This year was one of the best Burns I had so far, I received so much love and I am beyond grateful for every single minute. Thank you to the Mayan Warrior crew for your trust over so many years!¨

¨There are very few more surreal and mind-blowing setups one can play than standing behind the decks on an art car at Burning Man. Next level is when the art car is driving and another one when you are driving through a sandstorm. All of this happened when I had the pleasure to play Mayan Warrior’s new stunning Galaxyer. We set off just after the Man-burn Saturday night and rode into deep playa, followed by a herd of colourful, blinking people on their bikes, cheering whilst weathering the storm. And when we parked, the moving energy turned into a powerful dancefloor within minutes. These experiences are so extraordinary and rewarding in so many ways, one of the main reasons why I come back to the desert over and over again. So thank you to everybody who came a long for the ride.

When Rodrigo asked me if I wanted to come up with something special to set the tone for the man-burn night, my answer was obviously Yes. Tbh he could have asked for anything, as there is no question when one gets the chance to participate and play for this amazing collective. 

Thank you so much for your trust, inviting me into the tribe and all the handwork that goes into making all of it possible. I will never forget it and I hope this recording will transport you and convey the
magic just a little bit. It was a true honour to be part of your crazy endeavour!

He first came across this genre in 1996 at a local goatrance party, where he fell in love with the style. In 1998 Wegha’s name first appeared on the lineup of the Halásztelek Party, regarded cultic today as the Hungarian pioneer of open-air party series. After that he becomes one of the permanent actors of the Budapest psychedelic scene and the frequent guest of various big international festivals such as Ozora, Origin, Adhana and many more. Dj Wegha is a member of one of the leading Psytrance label – Future Music Records where he released his first compilation – ‘Tangle Mangle’ in 2018, including tracks by Ajja, Tristan, Imaginarium, Kala and more.

There are only a handful of places on the planet where electronic music is treated like art.  The bus is one of them, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share music on it.   The tracks in this set are my own original compositions or edits. I consider this to be an album release.   The music is, for the most part, tuned to 432hz in Just Intonation. This tuning follows the harmonic series, and is in harmony with the mathematics of nature.   I hope you feel it with as much love as I put in. Finally, I want to thank the Robot Heart team for working on the system through the night to get the bus out that morning. Your effort meant a great deal to me.

Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.
