Go Wolf, Go

Lonely in the deep delisquent waters
sailed the boarded oak frigate, a single troop.
Trapped occupants on the wooden tank,
make their way through spilled cold sea soup.

In the best of times, there was the vitalizing shore leave,
an inhalant of sea salt, flavored by mild subtropical strain.
The time of sweet temptation is limited -
for the journey must go on again.

You have set my sails
though grounding as a trenching anchor
for an unpredictable future’s test. 
Stormy waves hit through the railing,
undauted I stand firm
and let erratic breezes do the rest.

Almost living up to its name,
retreated into wolf's den at winters day.
Despite hibernation, the planks howling fades lame
in deep longing for the wave-riding prey.

Unthinkable that a proud barge like this has to cry
to suffer these limiting torments again and again.
Thundering seawater rushes through its vein.
These waterpumps never run dry.

You have set my sails

That wolf once feasted on pure rivulets of a spring -
not alone, as always accompanied by memories of navals sing.
Whenever seized by hunting desires of breakwater - just too soon,
a creature vanishs under grey lights of moon.
