"Save Your Atoll" is a young project born in 2019 by the Italian artist Antonello Meloni based in Sardinia.
After a previous experience in the collective Spacedrome, of which he was cofounder and after exploring the world of bass music, published several EPs and played in many Italian cities, international festivals and some Berlin clubs, the accumulated life experiences have led to a new artistic reflection. Deep sound and Techno are his new language that is the foundation for a musical expression rich in ambient and atmospheric elements that outline the storytelling. After the first year dedicated to presentations and to the recording of dozens of podcasts in 2020 Save Your Atoll begins to release its own productions, first with a single with strong influences "Burial" then contributing to the compilation for the 10 years of The Gods Planet with Mediterranea on TGP X and finally publishing in January 2021 The Universal Pattern, an EP of three self-produced tracks. There are also several releases planned for 2021 so keep him on the radar!

Temple.Prayer #068 Save Your Atoll

For the last episode of our Vision series, we invited an old friend of ours who has been supporting our project since the very beggining and with whom we're very greatful for it, https://soundcloud.com/bencyan, for another international b2b experience.

For this session, we recorded 2 parts, Ben went first with a stunning, profound & introspective 1 hour selection. Deep passages & atmospheric beats with heavy basslines are to be expected from this part.
Last 50 mins are mixed by me, LD Hypno. Since I was in the mood for some clubby techno, I spiced things up a bit and went for a diverse & danceable selection of tracks.

What's more, within this week we'll be launching our webpage, through our social media, so stay tuned.

About the photos that will be featured in our Vision series, all credits shall go to @exothermal_reaction, who sent us a beautiful series composed by 4 stunning pictures.
We were in love with these shots from the first moment we saw them since we believe they represent our vibe and vision of electronic music very precisely, hope you feel the same way about them.

During the lockdown times due to the COVID19 pandemic Desert Dream @desert-dream, a festival platform based in Dubai, U.A.E. hosted a series of live streaming sets. This was Herr Banna's debut set with Desert Dream. 

The set takes the listener on a journey through a rather arbitrary collection of contrasting yet complimentary and most importantly harmonic sounds, with the purpose of expanding the listener's mind to the infinite possibilities of life. Titled Magic; with the hope that it gives the listener some, Magic.

Magic | Desert Dream 03.2020 (Recorded Live)

Herr Banna is the founder of @Studio1112; his musical journey is rather short but eventful. He is a very recent discoverer of techno, a self-taught DJ who set off to Dj-ing in April 2019. And by August that same year he started Studio 11.12 as a non-profit platform hosting 'Listening Parties,' now a series of curated underground raves. His techno sound is rather eclectic, treading both realms of raw and driving techno, and is almost always deep and hypnotic. In his sets, he tends to explore the polarities of emotions such as light and darkness, mystery and joy; all in an attempt to take the listener through an emotional journey. His work is in ceaseless evolution as he continues to explore the wide range of techno sounds that appeal to his ear.

Herr Banna has proved himself through his mixing skills and selective approach to sounds; he has also built himself a strong portfolio of recorded sets, and played at the Hatch club in Dubai, and Dawaran Music Festival in RAK, in U.A.E. all within his first year of DJ-ing.

Looking back, growing up to the musical notes of his dad playing Oud - the traditional Arabic stringed musical instrument - with single songs stretching to extents of one hour at times; Herr Banna always thought he had a good ear for music but only at this age did it all materialize into a true musical passion.

Obscurity 022 | Herr Banna

For the first exhibition we wanted to merge a work by Caravaggio with four tracks from four young artists of considerable talent.

Concerto is an oil painting on canvas made in 1597 by the Italian painter Caravaggio. It is kept at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Bio : 
Minjoon was fascinated by the joining of his painting awareness and techno sound. His theme consciousness is to find an ambiguous equilibrium point based on the extreme paradoxes of "Unfamiliar familiar" and "Autumn aesthetics". And it departs from pre-sound conversation. Ambiguous shapes and colors in images are not a visual sense, but appeal to another sense of energy.
Sound becomes another material with various colors in him. He likes to solve the story of music by the color and texture felt in the sound without entangled configuration of music. The sound that seems to be suppressed gives a feeling like falling into heavy water, but at a certain moment it is crying for the structural escape of the structure. Music is throwing a quiet question while finding a balance that never exists as another means of exploring his theme consciousness.

Virescence Explorations - Chapter 8 [MinJoon]

Herr Banna, whose first name is Michael; is a DJ from Jordan currently based in Abu Dhabi - UAE, where he co-runs ‘Studio 11.12’ and works as an Urban Designer/Planner.
His knowledge of techno began in 2018 after being to one of Europe’s largest music festivals and visiting Berlin’s finest techno clubs in the summer of that year. Immediately, he found himself very passionate about techno, first as a listener, and soon after as a DJ - who remains self-taught. 
Shortly after he started DJ-ing, in the summer of 2019 he founded 'Studio 11.12' as a non-profit electronic music platform hosting 'Listening Parties' - a series of curated underground raves. He also curates a weekly podcast series labeled ‘Studio 11.12 Flights’ which is released on the platform’s Soundcloud page.

Self-taught DJ, discovered techno in 2018 in Berlin, started DJ-ing and became the proud daddy of @Studio1112 in 2019. Captured by the pulsating rhythm of techno and the extremely non-judgmental, widely inclusive, and very self-expressive culture incubating it.

Palestinian blood, Jordanian bred, Abu Dhabi based, Berlin-bound.

Founded Studio 11.12 as a platform that curates a series of raves labeled 'Listening Parties', and he currently curates the mix series ‘Studio 11.12 Flights’ hosting a selected array of artists from around the world.

His journey with sound is yet another story; still hunting for the haunting one. Along the lines of deep and hypnotic, and yet to find the right groove!
