After teasing the release with a series of well received singles, Get Physical finally unveil their fantastic ‘Africa Gets Physical Vol. 2’ compilation album. The sixteen-track selection has been mixed by South African duo Kususa and is jam-packed with no fewer than nine new and exclusive tracks.

Music from long-running Get Physical artists like Bruce Loko, album act Aero Manyelo, Enoo Napa, Mbulelo, Ryan Murgatroyd and Thor Rixon have all helped the label introduce this captivating African house sound to the world. Those artists have evolved with the label and feature again here, next to another fine crop of talent that all bring their own unique sounds and spirits to the mix.

Kususa step up to mix this second edition of the compilation series, contributing not only their own track at the heart of the mix, ‘Isthunzi,’ but also the energetic and sensual remix of Cornelius ft. Jackie Queens ‘Feel it Now’. These newcomers have already been featured by the likes of Black Coffee, Themba and Defected on various releases before now.

The album exclusives include Cape Town artist Blanka Mazimela’s perfectly rolling ‘Ten 2 Killi’, while his mentor Ryan Mugatroyd steps up with a new mix of Dele Sosimi’s ‘E Go Betta’ that pairs authentic tribal chants with serene deep house grooves. XtetiQsoul calls himself a “one man orchestra” and is co-owner at Iklwa Brothers Music, his exclusive ‘My World’ lifts the spirits with well-crafted synth patterns that extend up to the heavens.

Added to this are exclusive house cuts from Mr Joe, Fka Mash, Siphe Tebeka and Jakinda who together offer evocative synths and the sort of soothing, deeply moving and musical grooves that South Africa is so well known and loved for. Further new releases include the hypnotic workout of ‘Islappy Slap’ from established stalwarts of the African house music scene, Crazy White Boy, featuring the unprecedented vocal talent of Nonku Phiri to complete a supreme package.

Promoting the talent of artists from all over Latin America, Cocada has gradually conquered its space and respect in the electronic music scene as a promising project at a global level that connects different expressions of art. The label's second release makes this delicious fusion very clear. the EP “Quintana” by Caio Stanccione combines poetry, music, visual arts and great interactions between the thinking minds behind each of these fronts.

Quintana, a name that in addition to the EP tittle is also the name of its main track, is a tribute by producer and DJ from São Paulo Caio Stanccione to Mario Quintana, a precious Brazilian poet and journalist who contributed a lot to the literary history of Brazil, and more specifically to one of his poems, called “O Tempo”, where the writer, as if in an outburst, talks about the race of time in our lives and the preciousness of taking advantage of the present doing what brings us happiness. Stanccione intertwines the declaration of these verses with a contemporary and elegant musical composition.

The EP continues with two expressive collaborations. The main one comes from one of House Music's most respected and avant-garde names. The Englishman Jimpster delivers an excellent remix where he works with various elements of the original track immersed in a charming atmosphere but out of the obvious, as is the custom for the artist. The second remix was due to the experienced Leo Janeiro & Ossaim, who give Quintana a special lightness and a certain tropicality.

The musical project also brings one of the most requested and well received house tracks between house DJs and the public in 2019. “Another House Track” is literally a bomb for the dance floor and finally reaches everyone. To finish this very tasty recipe, as a good cocada should be, the artist Paula Dornelles comes again to translate music into image, combining modern and smooth elements of our culture with the composure of those who work with a lot of commitment. Turn up the sound and enjoy the ride!

'Singapore based Integrity Records are back with the second part of their mixed artists series “The Other Side” that features seven tracks with techy grooves, jazz influenced melodies and soulful tones.

Taking influence from the classic Detroit style, each of the tracks have analogue textures and a timeless sound that spans a variety of sub genres ranging from ambient house to deep techno.

The artists who feature on this EP have individually made previous releases on other imprints such as Kling Klong, M>O>S (Delsin), Transmat and Get Physical Music.

Many of the artists such as Ma Spaventi and Ackermann are making their first appearance on Integrity Records, but others including minimalArchiv have already featured in the labels back catalogue.'
