Echoes of Jazz Town - a laid-back jazz track that carries the atmosphere of the now mythical Jazz Town. Call it a dog whistle for whoever was involved in the project.

The story goes that Jazz Town was so enlivening, so genuinely supportive of personal and collective autonomy, that it wasn't "allowed" to continue. Shut down by systems that can't tolerate spaces where authentic human expression flourishes naturally. But, like laying tarmac over earth - it's temporary. Grass and trees eventually break through. Life processes can't be permanently suppressed.

The magic from those days and nights in Jazz Town went deep into the psyche of everyone who experienced it. A life-changing resonance that rippled outward to people who were never involved, who've never heard of Jazz Town, who don't even like jazz as a music genre. Because jazz is just the vehicle - the signal itself has no fixed form.

All that underground activity, much of it occurring on unconscious levels, in hearts and minds where it's protected from harm. Growing like rhizomes beneath the surface, spreading far and wide, going deep. And like rhizomes, eventually surfacing when the time is right.
So Jazz Town the place, the project - maybe that's long gone. Or maybe it never disappeared, just went covert. The implications of which are only now becoming apparent.

This track is simply an echo of that time. Not the transmission itself - that's always context-sensitive, always shifting, something that can never be pinned down in the present.
