Our favorite Sangoma label showcase is back again w/ the sublabel's very own New Yorker, DJ Izzy. His 'Ironic' set for radiOzora will be paired with an interview in The Prophet next week when the set gets archived. Then, as usual, you can read it in an audiopainted version.

Izzy is a New York City based DJ who has performed numerous events lifting crowds off their behinds to find their way stomping on the dancefloor to fresh psychedelic beats. Shortly after attending his first psytrance festival in 2009 he found himself behind a pair CDJs, beat matching his short collection of tunes in no time.
After throwing a mind-blowing set at Luis Campos’s Psycheground in the end of 2010, he found his schedule flooded with gigs almost every weekend, leading him to join Rob’s Radial Engine Tribe and Sebastian’s Paradigm Shift. Only after a year of DJing, Izzy’s potential was immediately recognized, leading him to join Daksinamurti Till’s and Emile Gata Freak’s new sub-label, Sangoma Records.

Since the beginning of his DJ career, Izzy has shared the room with some of the most well known Psytrance artists across the globe. Besides playing countless events in NYC, he has torn up dance floors in Israel, Boston, the Arizona dessert and a quite a few shindigs in Albany. You can hear some of Izzy's favorite styles in his compilations that he released with Michael Cosinus in VA Ironic Creatures (2013) and VA Ironic Cultures (2015).
His sets consist of carefully chosen psychedelic beats ranging from 135 BPM all the way up to 150 BPM. He is very keen on playing the appropriate music for the right time and place. Whether he is playing uplifting and melodic or deep and dark he is known to always keep his sets groovy and psychedelic, leaving his crowd begging for one more track…

Now over ten years deep in the game, decorated Slovakian drum and bass
veteran Trilo has amassed a loyal following thanks to his natural ability to juggle intricate melodies with unrelenting bassweight. Best known for his contributions to the neurofunk scene but equally comfortable producing myriad styles of D&B, the now Kraków-based producer’s vast back catalog spans prestigious labels including Renegade Hardware, Bad Taste, Eatbrain and Let It Roll. His most recent offering, 2019’s “Rush”, saw him collaborate with Bad Company UK legend Vegas. Now keen to explore his own musical identity rather than conforming to labels’ often rigid sonic requirements, Trilo has opted to self-release his music via his own label, Trilo Music.
First up on the label is the new single “Sion”, a barbed belter which opens with epic leads, cinematic pads and swirling FX before catapulting into a stunning climax dominated by gravelly basslines and vicious drums. A triumphant showcase of the signature style Trilo fans know and love, this serves as the first in an upcoming string of similarly heavy and technical releases on the label, set to be imminently released on a bi-monthly basis. In
the near future, however, expect Trilo Music to encompass a broader range of music across the D&B spectrum, including plenty of exciting collaborations with other titans of the scene.

Brian Hollister aka McDubbin started out DJ’ing in 2012 at a local weekly bass music event in Asheville, NC. With a style focused primarily on the heavier side of electronic music, he quickly joined up with the Shenanigan Society and the Asheville Drum and Bass Collective to bring his particular taste of music to the masses. Throughout the years, he has helped facilitate mysterious gatherings known as Lurches thrown by the Shenanigan Society. He also has helped and continues to help with Asheville Full Moon Gatherings and both Solstice and Equinox Festivals thrown by the T.O.U.C.H Samadhi family. 
As an aspiring sound engineer, he also can be found behind the scenes helping with production and stage management. Always the mad scientist, McDubbin also creates pyrotechnic effects and other devious toys to bring out for everyone to enjoy. 
Not sticking to any one style of music, you never really know what you are in store for but can be sure that it will fit the vibe of any show.
