A number of years back, I attempted a few covers of songs from my favourite video games, including this one. My cover of this partticular tune was one I was never completely happy with, and as I've learned quite a lot in the meantime, I decided it was time for a revisit. I've tried to maintain the same spirit as the original piece, whilst updating it to a more contemporary action orchestral sound. Hope you enjoy!

Trial By Combat (Orchestral Composition)

Been wanting to do this one for a while. As a (very) longtime Sega fan, Golden Axe was one of the most iconic games Sega released in the pre-Sonic era, and was one of the first games I owned on the Mega Drive (having previously owned the ZX Spectrum version). Since I've been tinkering with filmscore recently, I wanted to try and recreate the music and make it as epic as I possibly could. I really hope you enjoy my attempt.

Golden Axe - Wilderness Theme Orchestral Cover

This particular piece was requested quite a while ago, so after an extended break from producing orchestral music (mainly to focus on improving my metal production skills) I finally decided to give it a go. Due to being a tad out of practice, it took 3 attempts/restarts spread over the course of a year, but I finally got there in the end. 

Since I was a Sega lad, I never had a SNES as a youngster, so my first introduction to the Castlevania series was Bloodlines. I was well into my 20s before I ever played Castlevania IV. That said, it is a truly awesome game! A stone cold classic. :-)
