Hello and I am back with episode 274 of The Everyday Junglist Podcast-Detroit!!

Thank you to my good friend Matt Clarke for his mix for episode 273, from the looks of it, all of you really liked that one!

Episode 274 takes us back to Calgary for a mix from a talented dj who goes by the name of Wigginz!!

This mix melds a lot of different dnb sub genres and it does so flawlessly!! The mix features everything from ragga, to new jungle, to stepping rollers, to a bit of jump up, y'all are going to love this one!!

I've featured quite a few dj's from the Calgary area, so let's meet this dj, Wigginz:

At the very tender age of 15, born and raised Calgarian Matt Wiggins AKA Wigginz was introduced to the iconic rave scene in Calgary. Shortly after his first show, which was the legendary Aphrodite at Rollerland, he instantly knew he had found something that he wanted to become a part of and his life was about to change. After that show, he begged his parents to get his first set of Technic 1200’s and a simple Numark mixer. By 16, Matt was living at the local record shops everyday after school, and hitting every rave available on the weekends. After eventually acquiring quite the drum and bass record collection, Matt started playing local gigs and house parties, which fueled him to get better and better on the decks. After years of being in the scene and on the turntables, the Calgary rave scene died down and in his early 20’s and Wigginz took a hiatus from both performing and going to shows to pursue a college degree. But something was dearly missed, and that was the love of the music, the scene, and the pure enjoyment of playing for a crowd. At the beginning of 2014 Matt was offered to play once again at a Come Correct Deejay competition (Come Correct being a local Drum and Bass/Reggae crew) and of course he couldn’t turn it down. Matt not only won the deejay competition, but also got asked to be a part of the Come Correct Crew which of course was a definite yes on his part. Now Matt is back on track playing bigger and better shows, continuously putting out mixes and staying on top of his game. If you have ever seen him play out live you can tell how much he loves Drum and Bass as well as his love for making people move on the dance floor. Wigginz is back in Full Force. He is a Junglist through and through and does not plan on disappearing anytime soon!

Wigginz-Exclusive mix-The Everyday Junglist Podcast-Detroit-Episode 274

Once a regular mainstay on Radio Slave and James Master's Rekids, the last four years have seen Spencer Parker concentrate his productions on his own label Work Them, whilst also releasing a furore of music from artists such as S:VT, Young Male and Dana Ruh. This however changes later on this month with Parker returning to Rekids for a four track EP titled No More Silly Club Songs. As the name suggests the record sees Parker adopting some straight forward dance floor business. Parker himself says “This EP is simply a collection of tracks I made around 18 months ago for my own sets. No concept, no bullshit, just some tracks to WORK the club.” His tour schedule is as busy as ever and you only have to watch a set like his Boilerroom and listen to this exclusive premiere of No.3 off the EP to understand why. Infectious with a boundless energy that really translates onto the crowd. With this being the first EP of original material on Rekids since 2011’s ‘I Think I Love You’, the release is sure garner some extensive club usage over the next couple of months.

PRMD Music, known mostly for releasing mainstream dance music, is branching out in new directions with an indie dance record from newcomers Dusk Till Dawn.

"Sit And Wait" is a feel good track, and a remake of Sydney Youngblood's original from a couple years ago.  Dusk Till Dawn is made up of Lotfi Begi and Sean Darin from Hungary, two of the country's most respected studio talents.
