Janae Anderson, Also known by her stage name "JanaeMonique" is an uprising rapper from Beaumont, TX, who has been rapping and writing music ever since she was in elementary school. Janae first started off writing poems and freestyling with her brother just for fun. She has always had a great passion for music " I remember when I use to get mad, sad, or use to feel like I just wanted to escape from the world, I would always throw in my headphones and everything would just start feeling like I'm in a whole different universe with no worries at all" says Janae. Janae did not start performing on stage until she reached the age of 16. She states "Once you see that big crowd standing right in front of you waiting to hear what you got, your heart will drop so low it will pass your feet, but once the beat start playing and you start spitting your dope rhymes, that's when the crowd will go wild, and that is a feeling you can never forget." Janae was inspired by many music artist in the industry, she shared with us that Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Da Brat, Eminem, Tupac, Aaliyah, Mc Lyte, Queen Latifah and many more artist has had a big inspiration on her music career, because she says they were not afraid to be themselves and always stood up for what they believed in. Once Janae graduated from her senior year of high school her best friend/backbone Shelia Denise Anderson who is also her mother had gotten brutally murdered, they were very close than any regular mother and daughter and had a great and special bond towards each other. Her mother never got to see her do a show but always wanted to, and that had influenced her to keep striving and pushing to make it to the top. Now she has moved to Houston TX to better her career so she can be successful and give her soon family a better life.
Janae has released a mixtape by the name of “Good Meets Evil” on the 8th of November 2016. Many people thought she had quit the rap game and was wondering why she haven't been dropping any releases lately, but she stated that she is only taking her time to perfect her craft, and just because nobody has been hearing about her lately should not give them a reason to sleep on her, because the best only comes with patience, time, dedication, and practice. Janae also shared with us about DaGodCeemoe mixtape "THC" and his upcoming EP "The Theory of Music", “I’m not going to act greedy, I don’t mind sharing my spotlight, especially if its with my label, my team/my family Slowedvision Entertainment, because if one make it then we all make it, that's the code we live by.”
Janae has been apart of the label Slowedvision Entertainment for a few years now. Slowedvision Ent has been making major moves from doing graphic designs, promotions, photography, videos, music production and more. Janae stated that Slowedvision Ent is the best thing that has ever happened to her. She also states that ever since she been with Slowedvision Ent her rapping skills improves more and more each and every day. Now Janae is trying to further her career by going to college for Music Production, Graphic Designing and more, she now attends The Los Angeles Film School for music production and will be looking forward into graduating in the year of 2018.
