Lucidity

i wanna overflow
though the ghosts don't haunt me 
like they used to
i feel so blue

if i could take this lucidity 
inside like a broken knee 
maybe they’d see 

cuz i don’t know if it’s true
that anybody can become new 
but i guess i’ll shoot 

i've done what can’t be undone 
but then again 
a daymoon slips down from the sky
the heart bleached like piss 
stained sheets reads miranda rights 
im starting new 
without you

lucidity

here we are in the dark
at the end of the world
mutilated by the news
we wake up bruised 

there was a time when I 
planned for this 
had my bags packed but 
I realized it’s not that bad 

now I’m so glad I stuck around
& found someone else 
to share the sounds, the screams 
make the flowers bleed 
to hold on to things 
we don’t even need 

when the reckoning comes 
I’ll be there to pretend 
when the reckoning comes
I’ll be there with my friends
