Reed Cagle, a seasoned consultant in the energy and oil sectors, skillfully applies his extensive knowledge to streamline operations and promote the use of innovative drilling technologies, such as horizontal drilling. Born and raised in Clarksville, Texas, in 1962, his strong connection to Texas has remained a constant throughout his travels.

Cagle's personal life is marked by a long-standing marriage to Donna, spanning over three decades. Together, they have raised a son who is now grown and independent. The family initially moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1999 but eventually resettled in Plano, Texas, in 2017, where they live today. His professional journey began at Kinlaw Oil Corporation in 1986, where his initial role fueled a deep-seated passion for the oil industry. His enthusiasm and dedication led to a swift progression through various positions within the company.

Driven by a spirit of entrepreneurship, Reed left Kinlaw in 1996 to establish his own company in Dallas, Texas. By 1997, he had launched Heartland Energy Inc., which he later rebranded as HEI, where he served as president and CEO. Under his leadership, the company engaged in strategic partnerships that significantly advanced exploration and development projects in oil, gas, and minerals.

Cagle entered the drilling services industry in 2006 by partnering with Midcontinent Drilling. His investment facilitated the construction of a 2000-horsepower drilling rig, expanding the company’s capacity to perform deep drilling operations to depths of up to 20,000 feet.

In 2011, Reed expanded his business interests to the mining sector, starting with a thriving gold mining concession in Oregon that produced approximately 89,000 ounces of gold. He also took on significant roles in Chile, overseeing the financing and operations of a gold and copper processing facility in Copiapo. In this venture, he developed an innovative process for extracting and detoxifying liquids, significantly improving the environmental and safety standards of mining operations.

Today, Reed Cagle resides in Plano, Texas, and continues to consult for various oil and energy companies, focusing on midsize independents. His expertise also extends to other industries, including his consultancy work for a major landscaping company that operates across East and Central Texas.
