Ganksta C was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. The younger brother to Ron C the trend setter, Ganksta C was influenced by the streets and some of the local neighborhood hustlers. Young Ganksta C gravitated to the fast moving lifestyle of the streets. While honing his craft in skills of B-boy/hiphop break dancing, it wasn’t long before the young artist discovered another one of his hidden talents. Seeking to provide a better lifestyle for her children, his mother moved Ganksta C along with his other two brothers to Dallas, Texas. It was there, Ganksta C perfected the art of rapping and producing which transitioned him into a full-fledged artist. Writing his first rap in 1987, he began to “Put it down”. In 1993, Ganksta C released his independent debut project, “Ganksta C – Str8-Husla” and dominated the streets locally and abroad. Eventually securing him a deal with the now defunct, New York label, Profile Records in 1994 and making him label mates with talents such as N2Deep, DJ Quik, Run DMC and older brother, Ron C.
The deal generated the birth of another classic album, “Ganksta C – Stepchild” released in 1995. Now an established artist, it was time to take the show on the road, shooting his first music video, Ganksta C embarked on his first nationwide tour. Sharing the stage with other established artist like Spice-1, UGK and Scarface of the Geto Boys, just to name a few. Now solidified as a fixture in golden era hiphop, Ganksta C is back in the studio working on brand new material for his forthcoming release TBA.
