Caipi time! NYC based storyteller MUISCA presents an incredible Caipikiwi in this weeks Schirmchendrink episode!

MUISCA, or Sebastian with his real name, has been sharing and mixing his tunes through the world since he got his first MK2 back in Paris in 2003. Discovering nightlife at Le Palace in the late 90s and soon collecting vinyl's from Parisian stores like Katapult, Techno Import or Kitsuné, the original inspiration came from the Detroit Scene through Garnier's Rex residencies and the terrific Kill the DJ parties at le Pulp.

He has been behind the decks throughout Europe, Latin America and currently resides in New York City. As both a DJ and Amaya Mezcal Club Music Curator, he is well-equipped to take his audience on a unified journey of downtempo, melodic house with deep and dark transporting sounds.

For his first EP, What I Need, Blanc Soleil delivers a personal and already very assertive vision of his sound identity. Composed in Brest, the project draws on his recent emotions and the energy of the UK clubs that have left their mark on him. The four tracks explore broken techno with jungle accents, where percussive textures intersect with melodic pads and dance sounds. Between raw energy and attention to detail, Blanc Soleil lays the foundations for a hybrid and expressive signature, somewhere between rave intensity and club emotion.The project is also revisited through three distinct remixes, each bringing a different state of mind: a UKG-infused version by the Australian producer Wax Thief, a high-energy closing banger signed by Noge, and a more electro-driven interpretation from J.Strongrock.

To me, what Pablo seems to be telling us is that the sea is a living, breathing organism, whose essence is an ongoing, caressing movement. Wir wünschen unseren Hörern einen super Start in das noch frische 2018. Beginnen möchten wir dieses Jahr mit einer umwerfenden musikalischen Geschichte vom Potsdamer DJ und Producer Florian Rietze.

Musik war schon immer ein wichtiger Begleiter im Leben von Florian, wurde er ja in eine Musikerfamilie reingeboren. In seiner Jugend war er in der Hip-Hop Szene unterwegs und aktiver Breakdancer. Diese Einflüsse sind seiner Musik auch immer noch anzumerken. Nach einem Besuch beim SonneMondSterne Festival 2005 war dann klar wo die musikalische Reise hingeht … ganz tief in die elektronische Musik.  

Für diesen Podcast hat sich Florian besonders viel Zeit genommen und viel Mühe in die Trackauswahl gesteckt. Er wollte mal eine längere Story erzählen, wie er selbst sagt, und dabei alle Facetten seiner musikalischen Leidenschaft präsentieren. Dabei ist eine wunderbare 2,5 stündige Reise durch die elektronische Musik entstanden, deren Stimmungsbogen seines gleichen sucht. 

Florian tausend Dank für dieses wunderbare ‚Homecoming‘, wir können nur sagen ‚Welcome‘. Und unseren Hörern wünsch wir nun viel Freude mit diesem wunderbaren Afterhour Sound.

A multi-instrumentalist trained at Berklee College of Music, Grünbaum blends electronic, symphonic and jazz elements to create his signature sound. Grünbaum delivers distinctive live/dj sets: trippy, sexy, soundtrack-esque tracks that move hips and open minds. Since 2010 he has toured the globe. With releases on Trapez, Desolat, Lucidflow and more, Grünbaum joined the All Day I Dream family in 2017, merging the vision of his Tech House act Grünbox with the lushness of a new sound.

Intricate grooves, dreamy textures, playful whimsical bounce. Over the course of an electronic music obsession more than 20 years strong, Mark Slee has evolved a deep musical style that reflects a unique personality, blending intuition and introspection with a methodical approach to production and curation.

Fully committed to digging the troves of modern dance music, Slee aims to uncover releases that stand out. His monthly mix show on Proton Radio showcases his discoveries, with over 100 mixes presented in the past decade. In 2016, Slee joined forces with musical partner Atish to form the label Manjumasi. Debuting with his own Nocturne Belle EP, Manjumasi celebrates quirky dance music that explores new territory without forgetting the dance floor. Beyond Manjumasi, Slee's original productions and remixes have been released on such imprints as Cityfox, Seven Villas, Kindisch, Everything Will Be OK, Sound Avenue, Lost Diaries, Cosmic Society, Magician On Duty, Nugget, Where the Heart Is, Proton Music, and more. In addition to regular appearances on his San Francisco home turf, Slee's style has earned him DJ sets in notable locales, such as Kater Blau and Sisyphos in Berlin, Cityfox in New York, and Robot Heart.

Since 2016 Slee has also been developing immersive, spatial audio-visual production tools for systems of up to 32 channels via Envelop. Notable live performances with Envelop include MUTEK.SF and FORM Arcosanti.
