Who'll bring the dead to life,
The grave's dark prison burst?
Why, He that on the dead
Conferred their life at first.

'Tis strange that fleeting souls
Again today should wake,
But no less strange that here
They once their sojourn make.

Behold the human form
With strength and skill bedight,
Endowed with mind and will,
With hearing, speech and sight.

'Tis God's o'errulling power
Has caused with wondrous care
These mortal frames to grow
Of water, earth and air.

Then cannot God preserve
Alive the soul He gave,
And bear it safely through
The crisis of the grave?

Oh, yes, our spirits draw
Their essence from on high,
Of heavenly nature wrought,

After working on this selection of songs for six and a half years, I'm incredibly excited and grateful to be able to share them with you.  This album reflects a significant growth for me, as a singer and songwriter.  Combining my lyrics with those of my teachers, and drawing on diverse musical genres from Jazz, Blues and Hard Rock, to Arabic, Indian, Turkish and East African music, I have pushed myself way out of my comfort zone into unfamiliar genres and completely new territory as an artist.  I hope you enjoy listening to them even more than I did composing them, arranging them, and recording them.

Until 2016, revenue generated will be directed specifically to their current project in the Monze region of Zambia. 15 - Supplication For Rain (WATER, rel. 2015)

Khawwat ibn Jubayr, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him), once came across a group of women who he took an interest in.

Against his better judgment, he decided to put on his best clothes and engage them.

Until the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him) found him. The Prophet greeted Khawwat and said, "O Father of Abdullah, what caused you to sit with these women?" 

Khawwat panicked. He didn't know what to say. 

So he replied with, "O Messenger of Allah, my camel ran away. I was trying to figure out where it went. So I was asking these women if they've seen it."

How did the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) respond to Khawwat? Tune in to hear the story as narrated by Khawwat himself.

But the Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed them to let him finish. And then he proceeded to correct the bedouin man in the the most gentle way.

The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) replied, “And even the sheep, when you grant it mercy, then God the Majestic and Exalted gives you mercy!”
