MDNTMVMT is the brainchild of Jovany Rico and James Shen, who came together after a chance meeting at an underground rave in Los Angeles. Both artists bring their unique backgrounds and influences to the project, resulting in a distinctive sound that sets MDNTMVMT apart in the electronic music scene.

Jovany Rico, an alumni of Icon Collective, one of Southern California’s premier electronic dance music production schools, brings technical prowess to the duo. James Shen, known as Shenanigans!, has a rich history in DJing and the LA dance circuit, as well as the art scene.

MDNTMVMT’s music captures the essence of the late ’90s and 2000s rave scene, infusing it with a contemporary, darker twist. Their signature ‘Midnight Movement’ events not only bring the music to life but also emphasize the importance of community and the PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) ethos, keeping the spirit of rave culture alive.

Biography:
Ever since childhood Wiebe Roose was predestined for music. Music has been his motivation, passion, life, love and slowly it became his profession. To him, a day without music is a day without life.
At the age of 6 he began playing drums and any other kind of percussion he could get his hands on. 
Shortly following he began rapping, composing Hip Hop and DJ-ing, always finding language and sound to be his strongest skill. Later on he discovered his passion for music would become his life after being exposed to wide expanse of musical genres. Beginning with hip hop going true drum and bass, psytrance, goa, dub, deephouse, house, minimal, techno.
Ultimately, he found that all kinds of music can set his emotions free but he’s at his best playing deep-techno with melodic techno and progressive deep house. His recognisable sets can best be described as a psychedelic mix between pounding deephouse and deep melodic techno with trippy groovy vocals and adding multicultural elements for a truly unique sound.
Next to his love of playing the decks he’s producing some of the deepest sounds himself and has a passion for bringing to life events from deep within your imagination. In addition, for six years he has had the fortunate experience of teaching DJ classes at Metronoom Music Academy and most recently he started his own DJ Academy in Berlin after living there and immersing himself in the music community for the past 8 years.
He now is hosting two party series in Berlin with his cocreational art collective: ArtIDicction.
The one event, called as the collective is focusing on art in all its forms and Techno in all its glory...
Hedomanie focusses on freedom, sex positivity, respect, consent, performances, unique monthly changing themes and decorations and of course the unique ArtIDicction sound...
For the future, there is much more to come from this mind and ear doctor. His deepest wish is to inspire others to follow their passions by creating and sharing his love for music with the world.

Kasama is a San Diego-based house and techno DJ with a burning desire to bring people together through the art of music. Born in Los Angeles and raised by her mom, her Filipino culture became the center of her heart and soul. Kasama’s artistry and purpose is anchored to her Filipino culture. To Kasama being Filipino is to be innovative, creative, and festive. Not only rooted in her ancestry, but to also identify as part of the LGBTQ+ family is to know the importance of community. This foundation has inspired her to create “Kasama” which means “together” in the Filipino language. 

Kasama’s exhilarating and versatile sound has pumped up various dancefloors from the temple-pulsing underground, to the energetic main room at Rich’s San Diego, and to the vibrant rooftop of the Hard Rock. Kasama shows no signs of slowing down and is a musician who will continue to evolve. As she progresses, she continues to curate effortless sets schooling in that pure, adrenaline-pumping sound .
