They say two heads are better than one and whilst we’re not quite sure who ‘they’ are one thing we do know is that their logic is certainly sound when applied to Leeds-based house duo Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe, who have been working together as PBR Streetgang for over a decade now.

They are set to make their debut on Crosstown Rebels with ‘Shade’, a collection of music that proves there is no stopping the UK duo right now.  During the summer they've had releases on both Futureboogie and Craig Richards’s Ship To Shore label and they are currently hot footing it across the States on their US Tour (check out their tour playlist here)

Continental’s own A&R and multi-tasking, all around vibe meister DJ drops his debut solo single ‘Yeah!’, the send off to his no-nonsense DJ Tools series on the label.

Pioneer of the Parisian electronic scene, long relocated to London, Jerry Bouthier joins passionately the dots between music and fashion. The resident dj of east London’s infamous and now defunct BoomBox night knows a good tune when he hears one as his Continental label’s output testifies. His celebrated dj mixes for Kitsuné, Emerald & Doreen and his own Heart & Soul series are captivating labours of love that have attracted followers the world over. His stylish upbeat dj sets, blending genres and everything else fancied by this iconoclast Frenchman, never fail to rock the party from one continent to another.

Also a sound-designer for fashion, his post-modern soundtracks for Vivienne Westwood – seamlessly merging classical into world music, punk into cosmic disco and more - have become the stuff of legends. In the studio, he produces as JBAG - his baleariscopop project with Andrea Gorgerino - together they’ve released 4 singles (inc. tropical anthem ‘Mogadisco’) and remixed Two Door Cinema Club, RÜFÜS, Ladyhawke… however it’s now time for a new recording chapter.

Jerry explains why he’s never released a record under his own name before:
“I come from a band/group background and as long as I wasn’t producing tunes strictly on my own, it didn’t seem fair to the other musicians involved in the creative process with me. That’s why we started JBAG for instance, the contribution of my musical sidekick Andrea Gorgerino is huge, it wouldn’t have made sense to release our stuff as Jerry Bouthier…
With time I’ve acquired confidence and felt I could produce some decent DJ tunes on my own, the kind of funky, housey stuff I play in my sets, nothing as musical or song-led as JBAG – it wouldn’t be fun to do the same thing. The idea of delivering a series of DJ Tools soon came to me, you know simple yet effective tracks that work the dancefloor well without fuss…
So I locked myself in the studio with a pile of old vinyl and came up with ‘Yeah!’, my first attempt at going back to house basics, fusing the soulful vocals of yesterday’s NYC dancefloors to the more underground, bassline vibe of London.”

On the remix front Barcelona duo Mordisco, takes the deep house route with a sensual chugger that’ll work its wonders in the early hours. Next another duo, Tel Aviv’s B1ZB1Z, turns out a dreamy disco reinterpretation spiced-up by a zest of indie.

Following the success of Leo Islo's EP Golden Grave earlier this year, the release received some exciting remixes from the likes of Birdee, Jamie Prado and Cabinett. This collection of tracks provide a diverse collection of moods and sounds from Prado's soothing Playa Remix of ‘Blame’ to Birdee's stellar electro-disco refresh of ‘Euphoria’ rounded out by a piano happy dance rework of ‘Golden Grave’ by Cabinett. 

Inspired by his frequent trips to Colombia, Jamie Prado took inspiration from his latest visit to produce this beautiful remix that features delicate guitar riffs, hypnotic piano chords, and soft drum arrangements. Prado submerges the listener in a tranquil harmonic state of mind, allowing them to ponder and reflect on every word and beat.

Disco afficionado, Birdee lays down a thick rendition of ‘Euphoria’ with funky bass lines, reverberating electro guitar riffs, and rich dance floor rhythms. The track features an infectious groove that harkens to Daft Punk’s electro house style harmonizing with Islo’s signature vocals. This remix will have the listener nodding their head from the outset, bouncing along with to every note.

Cabinett returns to work on another Leo Islo track and his familiarity with the signers style seals the deal for this remix package with his rework of ‘Golden Grave’. Pulsating with bright piano chords and uplifting builds that really let Islo’s voice shine, this rework blends modern pop riffs with nu-disco horns and percussive layers that keep the energy flowing throughout the song.
