I wrote 'So If' for the wedding of a close friend, and was inspired by the love I have seen in life. The love of my friends, my parents and my grandparents. For me, it encapsulates the ups and downs that go hand in hand with any relationship, but ultimately the commitment and dedication that love offers. 

This song is dedicated to my grandparents, Val and Jerry, who have been happily married for 60 years. Your love for one another will forever be an inspiration to me.

So If

'Friend Of The Road' is a really special song to me that I wrote before going travelling. Although uncertain about where I was going, I knew that if I followed my heart and trusted my instincts I would end up heading in the right direction. Since writing the song and recording it over Christmas 2019 the whole world has faced a global pandemic with travel coming to a halt, but that doesn't mean our experiences have stopped. Covid has brought forth an array of challenges for everyone and sent us all on unforeseen journeys. Although global travel is still suspended for many, when I listen to this song it reminds me that there is still so much yet to come and so much yet to see.

Friend Of The Road

Greek mythology has always been an area of fascination to me, especially where women are concerned. The story of the Sirens, beautiful maidens who used to lure sailors to their deaths, was one of my favorite myths. I always imagined what their story was, why they ended up on the rocky shores of an island, and in this song, I explore what I think happened.
