For our next Zero Tolerance release we head to Argentina with two new remixes from of Jamie Stevens' Black Ruby EP courtesy of Analog Jungs and EANP.

Jamie's EP was originally released on Zero Tolerance in 2022 to rave reviews, and we have enlisted to services of two of the world's leading progressive artists to stamp their interpretations on "Path Of None" and "Black Ruby of Voldesad".

Analog Jungs provide an inspired journey with their remix of "Path of None". Their contribution is moody and percussive, injecting a tribal undertone reminiscent of the halcyon era which is both haunting and devastatingly driving.

EANP’s craftmanship is on full display with their remix of “Black Ruby Of Voldesad”. The duo provides a deep voyage into the depths of groove, expanding on the nuance’s of the original’s drum programming that harnesses hypnotic energy.

A seasoned figure in the world of underground dance, Mike Griego makes his Meanwhile debut with the typically impressive “Placebo / Angel Stab / I Only Really Care About Music”.

An artist with more than 150 production credits to his name, dating back to a 2009 debut on Atlantdigital, Mike Griego is a renowned figure in the world of progressive house. Able to carve out a sizeable niche with a smooth and dynamic sound, the Argentinean has found his music favoured by a host A-list DJs. Over 15 years a slew of high-profile releases have found themselves at home on such esteemed imprints as Cid Inc.’s Replug, Darin Epsilon’s Perspectives Digital, Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music.

Now making his Meanwhile debut, the Buenos Aires-based artist has excelled once again with a wonderfully sculpted musical triptych. Opening proceedings, “Placebo” is characterised by heavy beat and a clicking, popping groove. Full of percussive energy, a smoothly bouncing bassline is then juxtaposed against a lead synth line full of melancholy and beauty. A syncopated motif then picks up the pace through to a beatless breakdown where new melodic elements come to the fore alongside pads and white-noise washes. These then play out in a magical second half reprising earlier melodic phrasing.

Redolent in the same rhythmic brio as its predecessor, a gloriously dark and immaculately placed sub-bassline pattern emerges from “Angel Stab”. Waves of undulating pads wash over the 9-minute piece as it builds in intensity with multi-faceted layers of modulated sounds that twist and transform. At the mid-point, a shimmering melody makes its free-flowing entrance, drenched in reverb and delays that cascade into the breakdown as the rhythmic elements are gradually stripped away. Dropping back into its impressive rhythmic and bass groove in the third movement, the track extols the virtues of Griego’s production skills and dancefloor knowhow.

The final track sees “I Only Really Care About Music” showcasing Mike Griego’s varied and plentiful skillset. The sublime rhythmic narrative is continued as a light percussive melody can be found over a huge glissando bass pattern while a tumbling synth sequence flows freely over the mid-range, full of stereo-panned delays that fill the breakdown with beauty and poise. Exploding into the second half, a pulsating bassline and rhythmic top-line drive the hypnotic melody forward, creating the perfect vehicle for the rich melodies to shine in a carefree and club-friendly sonic environment.

Generating a Meanwhile debut of epic proportions, Mike Griego’s passion for his craft shines through “Placebo / Angel Stab / I Only Really Care About Music”.

Tali Muss (Anatoly Musaev) Music producer with Azerbaijani roots. Following his own taste in modern electronic music, he produces tracks in such styles as Progressive House, Deep House, Melodic Techno & House. His experiments with different sounds, blending deep atmospheric textures, dense bass, non-standard synth progressions and rhythmic groove sets, filling with some oriental motives, make Anatoly's music distinctive and recognizable.  
 
Tali Muss’ tracks were released on such labels as Hollystone Records, UV Noir, Movement Recordings, WARPP, Freegrant Music, Transpecta, Low Bit Records, HEINZ MUSIC, and Outta Limits Recordings. His music is supported by such artists as Armin Van Buuren, Joris Voorn, Franky Wah, Rose Ringed, Hernan Cattaneo, Miss Monique, Stan Kolev, Matan Caspi, Cosmic Gate, Anna Lee, Gareth Emery, Fonarev, Tempo Giusto, D-phrag, Fatum, Solid Stone. Presenting their second release of the year, Roger Martinez’s Higher States welcomes Montw to the label for his debut EP. Since first appearing in 2017, Russian artist Stanislav Prokofiev aka Montw has enjoyed a steady rise within the global progressive house scene. Noted for his blend of hypnotic rhythms and captivating atmospheres, the Moscow resident has excelled at creating his own brand of electronic futurism, making him one of the more unique artists to emerge from Russia across the last decade. Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and WARPP have been vehicles for his creative swell over the last three calendar years, in turn earning support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. After opening the year with his latest Mango Alley project ‘Zemer’, a single recorded alongside Italian duo Moodintrigo, Montw now makes his much anticipated Higher States debut with a three-track showcase ‘Mantle’. 

The enthralling sounds of ‘Mantle’ crash in and set any preconceived ideas of Montw’s music alight, forecasting rubbery bass lines, jet force propulsions and a hypnotic percussive cadence. It’s quirky synth modulation and glacial effects make for a break that is both memorable and emotive, before melting down into a grooved-out finale.

‘Chronal’ follows in fine style and further hammers down Montw’s elusive vision, with a groovy club-effective quality carrying the piece throughout. Chunky sequences of rhythm, glacial pads and granular textures travel to the very edges, while maelstroms of deconstructed vocals, shimmering synths and contorted effects highlight a high-octane second act.

The third and final selection ‘Bloom’ finds Montw crafting a feel-good excursion that’s nicely suited for those uplifting club moments. Booming yet dreamy, its swing-heavy hypnotism instantly commands your attention, through snatches of fiery synth mutations and quirky chord stabs, eventually culminating in a finale of effects-laden euphoria.
