MEAT Recordings is back with a digital compilation of seven pret-a-dancer techno tracks featuring the label’s trademark sound and beyond. For the 15th release in the history of the Viennese imprint Gerald VDH selected seven tunes by some of his favourite Austrian and German producers. Aida Arko, Black Lotus, Gerald VDH, Matt Mor, Scirox, Specific Objects and Verschwender (in alphabetical order, and in order of appearance) each present some of their strongest work to date, ranging from dark to uplifting, from playful to pounding and from educated to big room. To be released on May 7th 2021 (Bandcamp Friday).

Speed Kills (Snippets)

Quelza’s ‘La Valse’ quickly disintegrates any preconceived notion of tangibility. Part cinematic sound design, part dancefloor destroyer, the work presented here is a complex mesh of dense and vivid timbres, where exquisite detailing is the pinnacle of creativity.

Hi I'm Nona @anon_nona (he/him).
Besides my passion for music of many different genres, for dancing and DJing, I study cultural work in Potsdam. Furthermore, I deal a lot with politics and social sciences - also with a view to club culture and art.
In my free time I'm also kinda amateurishly active in visual arts - both in analogue terms and in the context of my digital hobby project @x.fram3s [IG] in which I create graphic designs for very different occasions,
The theme of interdisciplinarity is an essential pillar for my work in our collective because I believe that by bringing together art, music, politics and science, which have always influenced each other anyway, many undiscovered potentials can be released.
This 2.5h mix slightly differs from my previous podcasts in terms of selecting, mixing and storytelling. Nevertheless, the focus is once again on a high tempo, precise and hypnotic sound elements as well as an energetic and dancefloor-oriented atmosphere. Enjoy <3

Tokyo-based techno DJ and producer Nobuharu Morimoto makes his debut on Unrilis with a hypnotic EP defined by flowing rhythms and immersive soundscapes. A fixture of the city’s underground scene, he holds residencies at two of Tokyo’s premier techno events, plug and OUTSIDER, delivering sets that span Detroit-inspired deep techno to high-energy, driving tracks.

Following releases on respected labels, Morimoto now joins Unrilis with a refined and emotionally charged sonic approach. The EP opens with “Soramakase,” built around a rolling groove, pulsating bass, and muffled vocals, layered with dystopian pads that heighten tension, while the breakdown introduces rising jazzy chords.

Theo Nasa is a purveyor of weird, animated, rough, melodramatic techno with supreme body-catching patterns and sounds. An artist without any limits, Theo surrounds himself with all forms of music and takes inspiration from the deepest corners of Jungle/Drum & Bass, Grime, R&B, Rap, and Hip-Hop.

We asked Theo about his motivation to record this mix:
"What inspired me on this special mix for Voxnox is the current new world order situation happening, as I've managed to turn the negative into a huge positive and join my emotions into the mixes to create a hard and exciting alien groove, pushing the tempo from 140bpm upwards and back for a serious scientific journey full of heavyweight sounds…. Hope you enjoy the powers!"
