"And without any further ado, I bring before you Brother Minister Malcolm, and I pray that you and I will listen—listen, hear, and understand."

Malcolm X greeted his followers "As-Salaam Alaikum", 
The audience responded: "Wa'alaikum salaam". 

Then he tried to deliver his speech, but the assassins threw a smoke bomb and pretended arguing, there is when one of the men yelled: "Get your hand out of my pocket!"

Malcolm tried to calm them down saying "Hold it, hold it".

The rest of this sad story, as you know it, is one of many black spots that stained recent American history.

at 3:10 P.M., Malcolm X is shot several times just after he has begun to address an OAAU rally at the Audubon Ballroom. Malcolm is pronounced dead at 3:30 pm, shortly after arriving at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
