Testing 14 - Faith Walk Aka Sunflowers

You may not know.  But I have a HUGE love for the work of Dilla, RZA, DJ Premier and NO.I.D. and Bjork.  HUGE Huge appreciation for their production.  

When Dilla passed, I was running around NYC night time so much that I missed the chance to go to Donuts album release party at Joe's Pub. I remember shortly after, Dilla was gone. And I TOTALLY kicked myself for NOT making time to at least support the album release considering I've been supporting since 1998 when I first found out about Dilla on www.rensoul.com.   I wanted to create something inspired by his energy but I didn't want to copy the style exactly... I totally did not want to do that. Just pick up on the energy and frequency and then create something for him by me. I talked to the Universe for a while about missing the chance to meet Dilla and then was afforded the luxury of meeting his brother Illa-J in Tokyo years later! (So blessed).. ANYWAYS!!!!

This is Dedicated to One of my favorite people and musicians to follow. RIP J88!

Secondly, I learned about Jet Jaguar in 1988 when My mom dukes came home w/ a VHS Tape called "GodZilla vs. Megalon" so I had to mash these ideas up. You will hear the influence...This instrumental is sample free outside of the Jet Jaguar sound. God bless.
